Additionally, we provide family education and support so your loved ones can also learn about addiction and heal alongside you.
Adjusting back to your everyday life after addiction treatment can be challenging and uncomfortable. But a transition period in between can make your return easier to handle. At The Raleigh House, we offer an intensive outpatient program (IOP) designed to help you continue treatment as you slowly return back to normal life. We offer different levels of outpatient treatment depending on the type of care you require. Our outpatient program is part of our continuum of care after residential treatment, or you can enter into outpatient treatment directly if deemed appropriate. Learn more about our outpatient treatment program below or call us now to help you or your loved one get the treatment they need. At The Raleigh House, our goal is to match you with the right form of addiction treatment. Whether you’re coming from residential treatment or entering directly into outpatient, our team can help you determine the right level of care for your specific situation and needs.

I am interested in starting a group for women who struggle with addiction to pornography and masturbation. This addiction is especially troublesome for women of faith (Christian/Catholic) who feel tremendous shame and self-blame. Often these women have been sexually abused as children. If you are interested in a group like this, please call me at 720-707-9119 or message me at janefmcgill@gmail.com to express your interest.

We all want to feel whole again and to be able to deal with whatever life has thrown at us: trauma, relationship problems, depression, anxiety, life transitions, sexual abuse, abortion, pornography & sex addiction.
It's not easy to sit across from a counselor and to open up about what's going on in your life. Deep down you know you need to get help, but the challenge is to find someone you can trust and who doesn't judge, someone who "gets" you, and someone who will take the time to know you as a person, and not just a diagnosis. If you're Catholic/Christian, that also means someone who understands the role faith plays in your life, won't demean your faith, and who will bring faith into the healing process.

Addiction, trauma, grief, depression and anxiety can be crippling to experience. But even worse, they can be lonely and stigmatizing, causing those who suffer to feel distant and disconnected from everyone else - even though these disorders are very much a part of human existence. In fact, science tells us that most of us suffer through at least one of these disorders at some point in our lives. As you review my pwebsite, the central message I want you to hear is that you are not alone, and I can help you deal with these overwhelming and isolating issues.

My role and purpose is to help people find their freedom in order to find deep meaning in life and to love freely. The people I see often feel diminished and beaten down by many things including substance use disorders, shame put upon them by others, early childhood trauma and the grief associated with living. In my practice I help people learn skills and ways to cope with their individual issues so that they are able to live with the pain and not in it. I work with many modalities of treatment including Rapid Resolution Therapy used to treat trauma. I provide Acudetox to all my clients at every session for no additional fee.

Strength requires an opposing force, courage requires risk, mastery requires hard work, and honor requires accountability to other men. We need each other to challenge and inspire us to be the best men we can be. Current group themes include: finding life purpose, being the "rock" in relationships, navigating substance use, and finding strength in emotional vulnerability. This group is for Men to connect in their journey of self-development and growth.

So, my entire private practice is devoted to MEN's THERAPY GROUPS which create a safe/structured space where men get unstuck from porn and sex addiction, unleash deepened capacity for intimate connection, and grow emotionally/spiritually.
Let's be honest. When it comes to overcoming your compulsive use of porn and/or sex you feel defeated. You're tired of hearing that more effort and more accountability is the answer. What you're doing isn't working. Right? I get it. For over twenty years I was held captive by a secret porn and sex addiction. I understand the crushing shame and guilt. I understand that feeling that "things will never really change." But you know what? I found lasting freedom. And you can too.

We believe that family involvement is integral and necessary for the successful recovery of our clients. A person exists within a family and should be treated within the context of the family. To improve the quality of life as a family, it’s essential to involve the entire family in treatment through individual family therapy and multi-family groups.

Addiction Support Groups

What is the best therapy for addiction?

Addiction treatment will be tailored to the individual. People seeking help for addiction—whether with a psychotherapist, in an outpatient clinic, or in a residential program—should expect to engage in multiple types of treatments, sometimes including medication. For anyone recovering from addiction, avoiding situations in which one has typically used a substance is essential, as is the support of close connections. Since substance use disorders tend to co-occur with underlying mental health conditions such as anxiety or depression, those must also be addressed as part of any recovery plan.

How long does therapy for addiction take?

There is no set timeline for recovery from addiction. Patients and their families should expect the work to last several months, if not longer. Residential treatment programs may be based on a stay of 30, 60, or 90 days, with continuing work after release, but only about 1 percent of people are treated in such facilities. Ceasing use is just the first step; therapy to help maintain abstinence and effect behavior change must follow. The process of recovery, neuroscience has shown, involves brain cells recovering the capacity to respond to natural sources of reward and restore control over the impulse to use. Another definition of recovery is restoring voluntary control over one’s substance use and retaking all of one’s previous responsibilities.

How effective is drug addiction treatment?

Substance use disorders are treatable and remission is achievable for many who seek recovery; by some estimates, more than three-quarters of people who become addicted to alcohol or drugs recover. But that success rarely occurs quickly or on a set timeline; relapse is not only common, but many therapists and clinicians view it as a normal part of the process—not always a sign that a person has returned to addiction, but a signal that their treatment should be adjusted to help them regain control. Overall, research suggests, five years after the end of substance use, one’s risk of relapse is no greater than that of others who had not faced addiction. Other experts believe that complete abstinence is not the only measure of recovery, and that, through effective treatment, many people can learn to control their use.

How can you get addiction treatment for someone?

The most important factor in recovery from addiction is widely understood to be an individual’s commitment to change. For that reason,“interventions” in which friends and family gather to urge or force someone to begin immediate treatment often backfire; even when such efforts do lead someone to begin treatment, they may be less likely to stay than those who are self-driven. Still, family members can play an important role in supporting an individual who seeks help and can take part in family therapy as one element of a loved one’s treatment.
