I have been working in the Chicago area with communities of different populations since 2010. My experience is largely with adolescents and young adults, but I also work with elementary age children as well as families and individuals with special needs. In my sessions, I like to utilize Art Therapy and mindfulness to help my clients learn to process their emotions and thoughts in a unique way. Areas that can be processed through art therapy can vary depending on client needs, but can include- trauma and acute stress, anxiety and depression, changes in family, academic difficulties, and much more.
My focus in sessions is to be available for my client's needs, whatever they may be. Through art therapy as well as my own interests, I am able to connect with clients in a unique manner and rapport tends to develop quickly. I am open and accepting, but I also encourage active engagement in one's own treatment. Also available for LCPC and ATR supervision.
Do you enjoy animation and/or film? My BA is in traditional animation and film and I geek out over cartoons! I try to utilize these skills whenever possible in treatment. Do you want to try out guided meditation and then process what your experience was like through artistic expression? Let's make art! Because the Earth without art, is just EH!
