Duygu Biricik Gulseren Ph.D.

Dr. Duygu Biricik Gulseren works as an assistant professor at the School of Human Resource Management at York University, Canada. She studies, teaches, and consults organizations on the topics of occupational health and leadership. She is particularly interested in understanding how leaders and employees can promote mental health and prevent chronic pain in workplaces. She authored numerous academic publications on leading healthy workplaces, working through invisible disabilities, and maintaining work-life balance. Her study on why abusive supervision occurs in workplaces has received the certificate of excellence from the Canadian Psychological Association in 2021.

Duygu received her Ph.D. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Saint Mary’s University (Halifax, Canada). She also holds Master of Arts (Psychology) and Bachelor’s of Science (Chemical and Biological Engineering) degrees from Koc University (Istanbul, Turkey). Prior to her academic career, Duygu worked with numerous organizations as a Human Resources consultant.
