I work at your pace. I facilitate the conditions for you to develop a better relationship with yourself and others. For you to be effectively in the world and to live and love. Our capacity for growth and our quality of life are spoilt when, for whatever reason, we are haunted by the past, we stop being present to ourselves or others, or we lose our footing in the world. The psychoanalytic relationship is about supporting fundamental change. I am a psychoanalytic psychotherapist, member of The Guild of Psychotherapists and fully accredited by UKCP. I abide by the Ethical Codes of Practice of The Guild and of UKCP.

Everyone has times when things aren't going the way we might like. We can find ourselves anywhere from, a bit grey and unhappy, to, extremely dark and depressed, overwhelmed, stressed and spun out. Talking to someone can help. I work with individuals and couples and have a comfortable, safe and confidential practice in Dartmouth Park, North West London in between Tufnell Park and Archway N19 and work online from home in NW6. I take genuine interest in my clients, like to engage openly and talk in a straightforward way, developing a strong working relationship, showing empathy and building trust. I am also a counsellor at UCL.

I am an experienced and grounded psychoanalytic psychotherapist, group analyst and clinical supervisor with over 18 years experience. I work on zoom and face to face. Beginning psychotherapy is an important undertaking and during the initial consultation I can assist you in deciding if this is for you. In my work I recognise the strengths that have enabled people to reach a point in their lives where they can use psychotherapy indiviudally or in a group. Such strengths are identified during our work together and built upon as a part of the psychotherapeutic process . I aim to respond promptly to new enquiries with 24 hours,

Stuck, confused, overwhelmed, anxious or depressed? Struggling with a relationship, bereavement, job loss, parenthood, or parents? Perhaps you don’t know your exact problem, only that something isn’t right. My role is to help clients explore their issues, gain insight, clarity and understanding, then support them as they move towards change. Working together, we explore where they are now, how they got there, where they’d prefer to be, and how they might do things differently.

I specialise in helping clients who feel stuck - in life, work, relationships, feelings or patterns of behaviour - to find a route through their challenges. Increasingly I work with millennial and Gen Z clients and help them with anxiety, depression, low self-worth, shame, bereavement, loss of meaning and major life transitions (such as illness, career change or parenthood). I have a particular interest in working with those in the arts and creative industries who feel blocked, obstructed or lacking in confidence in their work.

You may be stuck with difficult relationships, or work-related issues, or struggling to cope with the loss of someone or even something important to you. You want to move on. It may be difficult to know what you want exactly, but you know that something needs to change.

I am a psychotherapist working in Camden near Kentish Town. Having a good and trusting relationship with your therapist is important in therapy. With this in mind, we can meet for an initial online consultation to discuss your needs and goals in terms, and explore how it feels for us to work together.

Body Psychotherapy is a holistic form of psychotherapy which naturally incorporates the body within the psychotherapeutic process. Our life experiences are experienced in the mind, and also felt, sensed and held in our bodies. As in other forms of psychotherapy, we work together to understand and therapeutically work through the issues you face. Together, we explore your skills and talents that you can utilise and explore the ability and capacity to heal, develop self-awareness and open the way for new modes of being. The support, growth and transformation occur through the quality of the relationship we form together.

Currently working via ZOOM, I am a psychotherapist and counsellor with consulting rooms in Highgate in north London and Harley Street in central London. My approach is integrative. This means that I work with a wide range of psychotherapeutic theories. Each provides its own valuable perspective and is enhanced when carefully integrated with another. The term 'integrative' also refers to the process of integrating the personality, taking disowned aspects of the self and bringing them into awareness, therefore reducing the need for self-defeating defence mechanisms and behaviour.

I am a psychotherapist and supervisor and have been working with individuals and groups for the last twenty years. For several years I was on the training committee at AGIP including two years as chair. I am currently the course leader for the Guild's diploma in psychoanalytic supervision. I would describe my orientation as psychoanalytic from within a contemplative perspective. By this I mean that I subscribe to the idea of an unconscious and believe events and attitudes from early life can impact on our lives today. I understand that an awareness of these currents helps to increase the choices available to us.

Hello, my name is Dan (he/him) and I'm a qualified counselor and member of BACP. If you’re here then you’re likely considering therapy, perhaps for the first time. I create a safe, non-judgemental space where you can bring your worries, share your thoughts and feelings, and be heard with empathy and compassion. Whatever you are going through, whether it’s a specific issue or concern such as anxiety or depression, or a sense that something isn’t quite right, you don’t have to deal with it by yourself. Together I can support you as you find a deeper understanding and connection to yourself and make space for the change you want.

I provide a confidential, safe space online, or in north London. I primarily use EMDR therapy (an effective, evidence-based therapy initially developed for PTSD but now used for many other difficulties) in 75-minute sessions. This therapy treats trauma, anxiety, low self-esteem, phobias and other problems too. I'll work with you to help work through past adverse or traumatic experiences, in order to improve how you feel in the present. This approach also helps with changing negative patterns of behaviour, improving your self-esteem, enhance self-acceptance and having more fruitful relationships with other people.

As a man, why might I want to see a male therapist?

There are many reasons a man might wish to work with a male therapist, including a degree of shared identity, which may help client and therapist connect to each other and allow for a more free-flowing discussion of issues that can be deeply personal. Some men may feel more comfortable talking to a male therapist about relationship concerns, the pressures they feel around the roles society and family place on men, career or job challenges, self-esteem, or anger problems. For some men who have not had a male role models in their lives, a good male therapist may be especially helpful.

How can I find out about a therapist’s experience treating men?

Individuals looking for treatment should feel comfortable directly asking a therapist about their history treating men overall and the issues that arise in therapy with men. A good therapist will be happy to discuss such matters as well as their educational background, approach to treatment, and how they think they can aid a prospective client. Prospective clients should also ask what the expectation is for treatment, and what the fee structure is, and whether and which insurance plans are accepted.

Can clients benefit from having a therapist of the same gender?

Therapy is not gender-specific, but some men as well as women feel more comfortable opening up about their experiences and history with a male therapist. An individual may feel that they have to explain less background information and be on the same page more quickly, particularly when discussing gender-specific challenges, in the case of male clients. Some women have prior negative experiences with women that predispose them to prefer working with a male in therapy. That said, a good clinician can transcend most if not all gender concerns. Ultimately, the most important factor in therapy is the connection and trust the client is able to build with the practitioner.

Would a male therapist have specific training in treating men?

Generally, no. There are no certifications for treating men specifically, but there are continuing education classes that therapists may take that focus on treating men as a group. There are many therapists who focus on men and male issues in their treatment and therefore have experience and expertise in this domain.
