Welcome! I hope that my words here help you to feel seen and leave you feeling hopeful of a better tomorrow. I am passionate about normalising seeking support when we need to. It is a gift to yourself and your future generations. It's important to know that we all experience times in our life that are overwhelming, challenging and sometimes paralysing. I firmly believe that you do not need to have experienced something catastrophic to justify why you might be finding things difficult. I will help you to discover a new way of moving forward which feels positive, and is aligned with who you are and what you want for your life.

You are not alone. Did you know that the very traits that make you successful professionally can also sabotage you personally?

Hi and thank you for visiting my profile. Opening up can be hard, I feel it is better to share a problem than to deal with it yourself. I enjoy helping people make sense of their experiences and finding different ways of living. I value hearing each person's story and helping you to find inner calm, clarity and understanding.

You may have noticed that I'm male - not a common thing amongst therapists but often critical in challenging past negative experiences of masculinity. I've learnt to be a man who is comfortable being kind, nurturing and vulnerable but still strong, especially with feeling my own emotions, because sometimes 'feeling' can be really scary for us all.

In the maze of life's unexpected challenges, I commend your courage in seeking support. I often liken our struggles to a bag of jigsaw puzzle pieces; in counseling, we empty these pieces onto the table and begin turning them right side up. Together, we navigate this intricate puzzle, allowing you to choose which piece to tackle first. It would be my privilege to accompany you on this journey of self-discovery, offering guidance and support as you unravel the mysteries of your life's puzzle.

Hello, Thank you for taking the time to look at my profile. My name is Rachel and I am here to listen, my question for you is, do you feel heard? Being genuinely heard by someone, who is non-judgemental and empathic, can be an extremely powerful experience. You may be struggling with feeling overwhelmed, anxious, sad or angry, or maybe something else entirely but the important thing is that you don’t have to manage it alone.

I have been practicing as a full-time Counsellor since 2002. I have worked in a variety of settings and for a wide variety of clients from young children to couples. I work as a Client Centred therapist helping clients find ways to live a more fulfilling life. Helping clients find out who they are, not who they are trying or feel they ought to be. I do a lot of work with children, students and young adults. I have also, since 2003, done short term EAP work in my private practice for a local housing association.

Hi, welcome to my profile. I deal with a wide range of mental health issues including depression, trauma, low self-esteem, gender identity, anger and relationship issues. Do you struggle with anxiety, imposter syndrome or low mood? Comparing yourself negatively to others, fearing rejection if you are your authentic self, or make a mistake. Maybe you are starting to identify as ADHD, AuDHD or ASC, and you're trying to make sense of your life story from this new perspective. Therapy is a safe and supportive space to explore your difficulties at your pace, develop new strategies, regain confidence whilst reconnecting with what you value and enjoy

When a relationship starts to falter, it can feel devastating. Maybe your relationship is causing you to worry. Perhaps you’re struggling with intimacy issues? Or maybe you or your partner has a porn or sex addiction that is pushing you apart. If you've been viewing porn for an excessive amount of time and are starting to question its impact on your life, you're not alone. If you've signed up for dating apps, or you are sexually messaging others despite being in a committed relationship, or your partner has discovered some of what is happening, and you know you must do something, counselling can support change.

Is therapy for men different than it is for women?

Therapeutic treatments and types are the same for men as they are for women, with the same protocols followed and the same strategies employed. Discussing one’s feelings and emotions is an integral part of most therapies, and some men find doing so more challenging. Therapists can help clients through the process; some specialize in treating men for this reason.

How do you encourage a man to go to therapy?

It’s helpful to express your concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual’s behavior affected either himself or others should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.

How can men prepare for therapy?

Men can prepare for therapy by approaching the process with an open mind, being willing to talk about their challenges, and giving treatment the time to work. Before a session, an individual may want to reflect on how they’ve felt since the last session and what’s happened in their lives. It can be useful for men who struggle to recall their emotional states to write down notes between sessions about their response to a given event or how they were feeling at a particular time.

What should men know about the process of therapy?

One of the most common reasons men don’t seek therapy is the notion that there’s something wrong with them if they do. Men should know that just because they’re seeking therapy doesn’t mean they’re mentally ill or damaged in some way. In the same way people work on their bodies through exercise or a craft through practice, therapy can be a way to improve the mental and emotional skills needed to be productive and effective partners, employees, and people in all realms of life.
