I have been practicing as a full-time Counsellor for the past 16 years. I have worked in a variety of settings and for a wide variety of clients from young children to couples. I work as a Client Centred therapist helping clients find ways to live a more fulfilling life. Helping clients find out who they are, not who they are trying or feel they ought to be. I do a lot of work with children, students and young adults. I have also, for the last 15 years, done short term EAP work in my private practice for a local housing association.
I have worked with a lot of couples and children and offer a Person Centred approach. I have mainly done complex long term work with clients with issues often caused by childhood abuse and attachment issues. These include anxiety, depression, borderline personality disorder, self harm and low self esteem. I have many years of experience.
Counselling can often seem like a daunting and frightening experience. It needn't be, as you will never have to talk about anything you do not want to and will always be in control of the process. It is completely confidential and will be governed by the BACP code of ethics. Just talking to someone about how you feel can have a profound affect on the future.
