Hello! I support adults, children and young people to better understand themselves using a mixture of talking and creative therapy. Perhaps you struggle a lot with family conflict or an inner conflict where you are your worst critic. Maybe you or your child has had a recent ADHD or Autism diagnosis and you want some time and space to understand yourself better. You may want to improve your relationship with yourself and others or you're looking for support to unblock your creativity. Most importantly, you're looking to live a more playful, engaged and meaningful life.

Are you feeling anxious, angry or unappreciated? Perhaps your mood has been low for a while and you can’t seem to shift that feeling. Sometimes life events such as trauma, loss, abuse, family problems or work issues can leave us feeling helpless. Perhaps you are considering help to untangle your thoughts. Maybe you think a lot about things that have happened in the past that still affect you. Sometimes there may be a sense that life is lacking in meaning and direction. We can all lose sight of who we really are and what we want from life

We believe that everyone who needs to see a counsellor should be able to do so. Cost should not be the reason that you are not able to access support. Day Time Sessions (7am- 5pm) £28. Evening Sessions (5pm-8pm) £30. Whatever your reasons for seeking support, be assured you will be treated with respect and confidentiality, and given the safe space to be yourself.

More and more people are finding that counselling can help them discover their own path or journey through what can seem like a maze of issues, decisions and choices. It can help them to understand what is happening in relationships at difficult times so that they can regain a sense of meaning, balance and control in their lives.

Firstly I would like to show my admiration for you making this courageous decision to look for help. I know how it feels to be stuck within the world, within yourself. To suffer great sadness and hopelessness. I too, once sat in the client's chair and can appreciate, how significant taking this first step is... Relationships, connections are so powerful within our world. Have you ever thought about the relationship you have with yourself? At Bulb Therapy , I walk alongside you, providing you a safe space to find new meanings, and a greater awareness of who you are and how together we can tackle your difficulties effectively.

Have you ever felt that nobody really gets you? Have you ever been thinking I just do not fit in? If only someone would understand you! I know how lonely that can feel. When we find ourselves making the same mistakes over and over again despite following advice from our family or friends, its time to reach out to someone who can give you a better understanding why do we make the choices we make and how can we break the cycle of bad decisions.

Life can be challenging and overwhelming at times, making us feel lonely, sad, anxious and stressed. Our thoughts can become unclear, tangled up and sometimes we just cannot stop overthinking. We can even isolate ourselves and feel like there is no way out. Counselling can be a safe and non-judgmental form of relating that might bring a positive change, more clarity and a deeper understanding of our feelings, thoughts and the ways we behave.

If you have come to a point in your life where things have become too much and you feel you or a member of your family need some extra support, then counselling is a great way to reach out. Through building an honest and trustworthy relationship, I aim to help my clients understand and overcome their difficulties whilst developing tools to help them in the future. I am an integrative counsellor, which means I draw from a number of different approaches to counselling. This allows for an open space where we can explore different ideas and find what works best for you. This may include creative work, looking at theory, or mindfulness.

Given the latest government advice all sessions will be offered online. I have ten years of experience of working in this way and I am happy to give you guidance to set this up. You will need an internet connection (preferably high speed), a headset and microphone. I can also offer telephone sessions but face to face via an online platform is preferable. Psychotherapy is about being listened to and seen in a particular way. There is nowhere else in life that offers a time and space to focus on your 'self' - your body and your mind. My Kent practice is in the village of Bridge near Canterbury and is easy to reach.

Welcome. Whatever has brought you to scroll these profiles, the right therapeutic relationship can help you be heard, seen and understood. The journey often starts in a place of discomfort: anxiety, bereavement, feeling lost, stuck or frustrated with repeated patterns of behaviour that you can't seem to shift (in life and relationships), physical or mental health problems or the pain of old wounds that haven't healed. These crisis moments are often a call to personal growth and development, and sometimes to find a new path in life. I can offer you a safe and non-judgemental space to explore your situation and begin to move forward.

My name is Jacqueline and I qualified as a counsellor in 2008. I have since worked with a wide variety of issues such as bereavement, anxiety, low self worth, lack of confidence, addiction, relational issues such as couples, autism, understanding self concept, shyness and much more. I believe that the professional working relationship between the counsellor and client is of fundamental importance as it provides opportunities in which change can occur. For that reason I provide a free assessment of your needs. Also meeting myself prior to engaging in any counseling will help you to decide if I would be the right counsellor for you.

Great, you have already taken the first steps for you. I am not the expert on you, you are. I am here to support and explore with you what you maybe finding difficult or just not feeling Ok. This may be in your relationships, in your physical body or you are finding both these things are overwhelming sometimes. Together we can wonder, ponder and educate ourselves and understand, why? Then we can make a strategy and build on your already available resilience (you are here remember), and improve this together. This maybe just a few sessions, sometimes just one or a little longer if you need this.

I currently hold a consultant grade post working with children and young people who are looked after, and children with learning disabilities.
This service offers psychological assessment and therapy for children, young people and adults. We currently have availability to see adult clients only. People seek help for a range of reasons including anxiety, low mood, relationship issues, low self esteem or distress following traumatic events. A comprehensive assessment is always undertaken as a first step. This ensures clients have a good understanding of the process of therapy and can discuss in advance what approaches might be most useful for them. I draw on a range of evidence based approaches including EMDR, CBT and systemic practice.

I have over 20 years experience working with children, their families and educators in a variety of roles including: nursery auxiliary, nanny, learning support assistant, ASD outreach worker, educational psychologist, coach and clinical supervisor, with additional specialisms in child and adolescent mental health, neurodiversity and the impact of trauma.
I work with parents as a catalyst for change - helping them shift from surviving, to thriving. I empower parents to press pause and reconsider how they actually want family life to be, and how they want to get there. My coaching weaves the science of child development and psychology into the unique intricacies of each family situation, providing a truly tailored, and therefore, effective approach. Are you worried about your child's behaviour, well-being or learning? Do you find yourself doing or saying things as a parent you wish you didn't? Do you feel uncertain about how best to approach an issue with your child? I can help.

Education and Learning Disabilities Counsellors

How effective is treatment for learning disabilities?

When initiated early and tailored to a child’s specific needs, learning disability treatment can be quite effective at helping a child cope with their disability, though its exact efficacy may depend on the severity of symptoms and whether comorbid disorders exist. Less is known about treatment initiated in adulthood, but it is certainly possible that an adult with a learning disability will see some improvement—or at the very least, identify workarounds and accommodations that could make symptoms less burdensome in day-to-day life.

When should someone seek treatment for learning disabilities?

It’s best to seek treatment as early as possible. Because learning disabilities often go unnoticed until a child starts school, or even until they’re a few years along, regular check-ins with teachers and doctors can help parents determine whether children are meeting milestones and keeping up with peers or whether an evaluation for learning disabilities may be warranted. And although earlier is always better, it’s never too late to be evaluated for learning disabilities and to seek treatment.

What happens if learning disabilities are left untreated?

Undiagnosed and untreated learning disabilities can be a source of significant frustration and shame for a child, who may feel that their challenges stem from a lack of intelligence or willpower. Such feelings can trigger low self-esteem, depression, or anxiety, which may push a child toward risky behaviors, including substance use. In adulthood, untreated learning disabilities can interfere with career success, and lingering feelings of self-doubt and shame can negatively affect someone’s mental health.

Are there medications for learning disabilities?

Currently, there are no medications designed to treat specific learning disabilities such as dysgraphia or dyscalculia. However, someone with a learning disability may be prescribed medication for a comorbid condition, such as anxiety, depression, or ADHD, which may have positive downstream effects on their learning disability; for example, a child with both ADHD and dyslexia may find that they’re better able to focus on their reading exercises after being prescribed a stimulant medication.
