During my sessions, I aim to create a safe space where I can support all my clients through understanding, kindness and acceptance. When working with my clients, I take a collaborative approach to ensure I am meeting my clients where they are, in the present moment, and to support clients with healing in a way that is meaningful to them. In our sessions, we will work together to create goals, explore and enhance skills, while considering your interests and what is important to you to foster an overall sense of well-being.

I belief that a person is the expert of their own life, but sometimes may lose their way. That's where I can help you muddle through the feeling of being overwhelmed, depressed, anxious, angry, hopeless, or whatever feelings you are having, and help you find your balance in life. I believe that you are not your diagnosis, but knowing about your diagnosis will help you

Welcome! My practice is dedicated to supporting individuals experiencing difficulties with emotion regulation, intimate partner violence (IPV), sexual violence, grief and loss, anxiety, depression and significant life transitions such as separation and divorce. In my work with children aged 4+, I draw from Child-Centered Play Therapy (CCPT), a therapeutic approach which recognizes play as the natural medium through which children express their thoughts and feelings.

Is your child or teen struggling with anxiety or depression? Are challenges at home or school leaving them overwhelmed? As a parent, you know them better than anyone, but it’s natural to feel stuck or unsure about the best way to help. I’m here to offer guidance and support for both you and your child. My goal is to create a warm, comfortable environment where we can gently explore the challenges they’re facing, with kindness and care. In my role, I provide a safe and neutral space outside of home or school, offering privacy and discretion that can be essential for your child’s comfort and openness.

Sandplay Counsellors

What problems are best treated with sandplay therapy?

Research has examined this therapy’s utility in young people and found positive results. It has been shown to be useful for those who suffer from autism, attention deficit disorder, anxiety, and or aggressive behavior. Children who have suffered abuse, neglect, or trauma have also seen improvement through this therapy. Abused children are often fearful and anxious about their safety, making verbal communication more difficult.

Is sandplay therapy suitable for children and teenagers?

Children and adolescents are good candidates for sandplay therapy. Many kids and teens are often unable to form and communicate their thoughts, let alone the emotions they are experiencing. Through this play therapy, they will hopefully make connections between what they feel inside and how the world works outside.

Is sandplay suitable for adults?

This type of therapy can be useful for adults who have difficulties expressing themselves. People who have suffered neurological changes after a brain injury or because of a traumatic event might be good candidates for this therapy. In fact, anything that has had an effect on the brain, such as substance abuse, can make non-verbal sandplay a valuable option.

Does sandplay therapy work?

There have been studies on the effectiveness of sandplay therapy, and it appears to improve difficult behaviors in children. It may also enhance self-esteem and lessen feelings of physical anxiety as well as hypersensitivity. This type of therapy is based on non-verbal communication and may feel less threatening to the individual.
