Life comes with a variety of experiences, and everyone's journey is unique. Sometimes we face difficulties that we could use extra support to navigate. Taking the first step to seek support is a big deal! The unknown is often scary and anxiety provoking. Whether you have been to counselling in the past, or you are considering it for the first time, thank yourself for taking that step. As a social worker, I take pride in working from a biopsychosocial approach. I understand that the lives of individuals are complex, and there are many paths to a desired outcome. I believe that there is no "one size fits all" approach to counselling.

My practice focuses on short to medium-term therapy where goal-setting is central. I work with adults of all ages, including teens aged 16 and up, who experience problems associated with depression or anxiety (including sleep difficulty/insomnia) and relationship struggles. Clients improve their coping skills and habits to support positive mental health, balanced thinking, living according to their chosen values, and managing stress.

Grab a cup of coffee, pull up a seat, and let’s talk. I won’t lie, many people find therapy a scary place where they feel judged because of all the issues they talk about. I can promise you that I am as real as it gets! When you walk into my office the only goal I have is to help you achieve whatever solution or life changes you are looking for while enjoying the process and experiencing yourself in new ways. We are complex individuals with our own unique stories made up of our experiences. Therapy is an empowering space where we can explore non-judgmentally.

*Currently accepting Couples/Relationship Work* Hi! I started my counselling therapist journey in 2011 when I was employed in in group home settings with neurodiverse clients with mental health challenges. During graduate school I volunteered with the Nova Scotia Hospital and chose to focus on trauma and Couples' Counselling, but I'm passionate about helping people feeling like themselves again; whatever that looks like. I moved home to Fredericton in Spring 2020 (at the beginning of Covid-19!) and I love being back, close to family and friends.

*Please note: I'm often in session with clients, therefore the best way to reach me is via email. I help adults, teens, and professional helpers build inner strength, confidence, and hope when they are feeling weighed down by stress, anxiety, and depression. My clients feel stuck due to life struggles such as: work, school, relationships, ongoing stress, and loss. They also struggle with finding confidence, peace, and joy within themselves. Sometimes life throws us a curve-ball and we can find ourselves struggling to cope wondering, "How did I get here?" I know life can be tough sometimes and I know how to help.

I am a non-binary and queer Clinical Registered Social Worker. I practice on traditional unceded territory of the Wolastoqiyik and Mi’kmaq Peoples (Moncton, NB). I have spent the last 12 years dedicated to relieving and transforming the suffering of marginalized peoples of all walks of life, but I have a special passion for LGBTQ+ adults and youths (and their guardians!). Past clients would describe me as warm, bubbly, and kind. I want to share my wealth of knowledge with people who are struggling with their hurts and help them reach a place where they feel more like themselves and can enjoy life.

I look forward to working alongside you during this new journey. I believe when clients are given the right environment; one of understanding, non-judgement, and empathy, that they can make lasting changes. Starting counselling can be a scary step, but when you decide that you want to start this journey and trust in the process, change will happen.

I offer a safe and welcoming space to begin exploring the barriers that are preventing you from living the life you want to live. Whether you are you looking to understand yourself better, for coping skills or simply a non-judgmental perspective, I offer a client-centered approach which prioritizes your lived experience. I work from a holistic perspective to explore the many different ways that our environments (past and present) and the systems that operate around us and on us, impact how we think and feel.

My ideal client would be a person that has experienced a traumatic event like abuse. This traumatic experience has led to the client experiencing multiple personal struggles in their adult life including self-esteem issues, an eating disorder, depression, anxiety, marital conflict and an inability to cope with daily living. As a couple, they may be contemplating a major transition like adoption and this transition has triggered past pain due to their personal narrative.

I love working with people, helping them feel heard, understood, and appreciated, while helping them make sense of their situation and the issues they are facing. Working with you as a team, I can help you learn new skills that will help you build the life you want, and behave like the person you want to be. I use a combination of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy to help you “unhook” from difficult situations, thoughts, feelings, and memories so that you are free to act in ways that will enhance your life.

I am a mental health professional who cares deeply about giving clients a space to be heard and seen. I believe that the beauty of therapy lies in the growth and transformation that becomes possible when people experience safe, caring presence —both within themselves and with others. I am passionate about working with folks struggling with anxiety, trauma, panic disorder, OCD, and depression. My ideal client is interested in self-exploration and sees change as a complex and multifacted process that involves many angles and layers.

What type of mental health professional is right for me?
Some of the most common types of mental health providers in New Brunswick are psychologists, licensed counselors, therapists, psychotherapists, and licensed clinical social workers, all of whom diagnose mental health conditions and provide individualized treatment.

Services offered, education and credentials vary by type of mental health professional. Each professional in New Brunswick then may specialize in certain areas, such as depression, marriage counseling, or anxiety. Although many mental health providers are not licensed to prescribe medication, they may coordinate with a provider who can.

Both in-person and online therapy sessions are available from most psychologists.

How to find a specialist?
You can refine your search using the filters on this page. There are several categories you can filter by to find mental health professionals with the experience you are looking for. You may want to filter for CBT Psychologists in New Brunswick, or Child Psychologists in New Brunswick.

What method of therapy is right for me?
When it comes to treatment methods, there's no 'right way.’ Each method of therapy can be beneficial for a variety of issues.
