I delight in the uniqueness and complexity of each individual. Holding space for personal work, reflection and deepening of awareness is a gift and honor that I hold dear. I feel it's important to make room for the unfolding intentionality of each person through body mind heart and soul. I tend to support experiences around development, grief, queerness, sexuality and spirituality with great tenderness. I look forward to learning from the people who I meet in my practice as I adapt to how they experience being supported.

Transition, change, and loss are all a part of life. These moments can leave us feeling isolated and disconnected. Grief is a natural response to loss, yet can feel anything but natural to those who are grieving. My approach provides space for every type of grief, including losses of not-so-loved ones and non-death losses such as job losses, end of relationships, and life transitions. The grieving process can make us feel incredibly vulnerable, and this space is designed to be a sanctuary for those to be with their grief without judgement.

I currently work with people overcoming damaging inner dialogue, depression, anxiety, weight loss, general life management, addictions, ADHD, and many other common and uncommon issues that prevent us from having the life we believe we should have.
Do you do things you would rather not do or avoid things you should do? Are you frustrated because you put others ahead of you and avoid conflict at all costs, or are you angry and having trouble keeping it in check? Are you feeling alone or misunderstood? If any of the above apply to you, I can help. My process is to listen. And by coming to understand you, help you face the challenges that are preventing you from living life on your terms. Sometimes, it's even about helping you decide what those terms are.

Most of my work is around grief & loss, anxiety & depression, relational/self esteem issues, work/career issues, traumatic life events, sexual/gender orientation concerns, & issues related to emotional, mental and spiritual health.
I sincerely believe that every human person has the inner resources for change and growth. The two words that best describe my work with care-seekers are 'to-Explore' & 'to -Empower'. My approach in psychotherapy is eclectic in responding to the care-seekers' needs and goals. I draw my therapeutic skills from a variety of theoretical models. My non-anxious presence in therapy helps my care-seekers to entrust themselves to the therapeutic process and work with me in resolving their issues, both short-term as well as long-term. I offer therapy for Individuals, couples and families.

Some concerns that I address during counselling are: parenting challenges, grief, postpartum depression, anxiety, intrusive thoughts, self-esteem, attachment-bonding, and addressing familial and cultural expectations (namely for BIPOC individuals).
I support clients of all genders in individual counselling, and also offer relationship counselling for folks wanting support with relationship or parenting challenges. I want all parents to know that fluctuations in emotions, mood, and even patience don't make you a bad parent. Every situation can improve, little by little. This applies for relationships too: it's so common to struggle with things like communication, managing role transitions, intimacy, and dealing with stress and conflict. I am here to help you navigate all these ups and downs so that you can feel more connection, support, and fulfillment.

How long does therapy take for grief?

There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.

When should you seek therapy for grief?

Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.

Can grief be managed without therapy?

Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.

What happens if grief is left untreated?

Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
