Psychotherapy is a professional relationship between a care seeker (client) and caregiver (therapist). The primary focus of this relationship is to serve the client’s interests and well-being. I endeavour to create this healing relationship by providing C.A.R.E. The model involves C- Conversations/Compassion, A- Attunement /Attention, R- Respect, and E – Empathy. My non-anxious presence in therapy helps my care-seekers to entrust themselves to the therapeutic/healing process.
Most of my work is around grief & loss, anxiety & depression, relational/self esteem issues, work/career issues, traumatic life events, sexual/gender orientation concerns, & issues related to emotional, mental and spiritual health. Psycho-Education, life coaching and working with teenagers/young adults dealing with parental separation/divorce.
In addition to my academic and clinical qualifications, I have fifteen years of rich Parish/Pastoral experience & an Indian/Goan cultural background. I also practice self-care through Amrut Vella meditation, 5K walks, and cooking. My Approach can best be described as understanding, respectful, empathetic, nurturing, nonjudgmental, perceptive, and inclusive.
