I am an AuDHD non-binary lesbian therapist that operates an intersectional, anti-racist 2SLGBTQ+ and neurodiversity-affirming practice. I know from experience that growing up neurodivergent can often be traumatic, and made even harder when you are undiagnosed, unsupported, or experiencing gender or race-based discrimination. Identifying as neurodivergent and unmasking as an adult can be freeing, confusing, scary, and can bring up past traumas. I can help you explore your values and intersecting identities, build self-compassion, set boundaries, identify needs and accommodations, and heal from complex traumas.

Waitlist for new clients
Although my practice is highly varied, I have worked with people from the lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans and HIV communities, providing individual and couples counselling.
35 years experience has taught me much about successful therapy. Being understood, whether as an individual or within a couple is critical; my job is to listen well while bringing you my knowledge about how people work and how change happens. You bring knowledge of your life and together we have a conversation about what might allow change to happen. Sometimes, old stories get in the way and revisiting them is necessary to remove obstacles to change. This can only happen when people feel safe. Creating that nurturing environment is also part of my job. While therapy can be difficult, it is also an exciting and rewarding process.

Waitlist for new clients
I work with depression, anxiety, serious illness, life change, grief, and gay/ lesbian/bisexual issues.
At the moment I am unable to take any new clients. The psychotherapy I provide goes well beyond the simple ways we often think about ourselves: depressed, anxious, traumatized etc. These are useful labels but for each person there is a whole lifetime leading up to those ideas. You can think about them alone, but talking with the safety and care that I provide makes all the difference. Psychotherapy is about how you talk to me, what you say, when you say it and the confidentiality creates a space where we can bring all the ways you may be with me to awareness.

“Whether we’re overcoming adversity, surviving trauma or dealing with stress or anxiety, having a sense of purpose, meaning, and perspective in our lives allows us to develop understanding and move forward. Without purpose, meaning and perspective, it is easy to lose hope, numb our emotions or become overwhelmed by our circumstances. We feel reduced, less capable, and lose in the face of struggle. The heart of spirituality is connection. When we believe in that inextricable connection, we don’t feel alone.” – Brene Brown

I know that making a decision to start therapy isn't easy. It can be anxiety-inducing, whether you are new to the process or experienced. I understand that and will work with you at your own pace. It is also important that you feel a sense of connection with your therapist, and that you feel seen, understood, and valued. As we work together, we will build a safe therapeutic relationship for you to explore your patterns in relationship with others, and with yourself. I will listen with curiosity and compassion to your stories- the ones that are causing discomfort or pain in your life and the ones that bring you happiness.

I often work with clients who feel overwhelmed or stuck, like there are no options. They might feel misunderstood or unsupported in certain areas of their lives. They're often interested in bettering their lives. I work with adolescents, adults and older adults navigating life transitions, aging, illness and changing circumstances. Connecting back to a state of love, wholeness and centeredness is my hope for our work together; and that you feel understood.

My therapeutic style is warm, accepting, flexible and conversational. I believe clients are the experts of their own lives and I approach our work together with curiosity and humility. As a queer and neurodivergent woman, I understand how the systems we live within shape our lives, and am committed to an intersectional, feminist, anti-oppressive approach to therapy. I take an eclectic approach with clients, pulling from different modalities to best suit the needs of the client and what feels right for them.

Are you a 25-35 year old, type-A, high-achieving, anxiety prone human with diagnosed or suspected ADHD, a strained relationship with your mom, who people pleases and can never turn their brain off? You've been told you're "too sensitive" or "too much" or "too needy", and you learned to shut your emotions down just to function in this busy society. You're on an emotional rollercoaster, and you've TRIED to feel better: meditation, self-help, breathwork, exercise, therapy tiktoks and journaling...but nothing seems to stick for long. You're really ready and eager to make a change in your mental health, even if nothing else has worked.

I offer one-on-one individual sessions for adults and youth navigating themes of depression, anxiety, neurodivergence, grief, sexuality, gender identity, race/racism, childhood trauma, relationships issues, self-worth and harm reduction/substance use. I approach the exploration of healing and trauma processing with a non-linear, non-pathological perspective that recognizes the relationships between systemic oppression, intergenerational trauma, and adaptive survival/coping mechanisms. My hope is to ground our conversations in nuance, sensitivity and curiosity.

Some clients come to therapy because they need a chance to work through events that have had a negative influence on their wellbeing. Other clients may have never had a chance to know their own desire: what it is that they value and want out of life. Some clients come for support with a specific diagnosis, and others have a vague sense that something is just not right. Sometimes clients have found that they simply benefit from a place to focus on their own mental health.

I approach therapy with the belief that everyone has a life story that is worthy of being met with compassion and empathy. My work background, combined with my identities as a member of the Asian and LGBTQIA+ community equips me to work from a strength-based, trauma-informed, and anti-oppression framework. Additionally, this intersectionality assists me in maintaining a culturally sensitive and intersectional lens that is rooted in compassion and curiosity.
