My name is Dr. Joy Andres-Lemay. I have been practising with children, teens, and families for over 15 years. I provide psychological assessment services for developmental issues, learning disabilities, and mental health concerns. The treatment services I provide include individual and family treatment for children and adolescents with mental health concerns such as Anxiety, Depression, ADHD, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, as well as for a variety of life stressors (e.g., family breakdown, self-esteem). I also provide parenting support to families. My approach to treatment is eclectic, integrating Cognitive Behavioural Therapy approaches, attachment theory and systemic approaches.
My comprehensive psychological assessments evaluate cognitive functioning, academic achievement, and socioemotional functioning. Written reports are provided to families outlining diagnoses, academic recommendations and if needed, recommendations for intervention. Treatment approaches are determined after meeting with the child and their parent(s)/caregivers and we have determined treatment goals.
I have also presented training workshops in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Attachment Theory, and Clinical Skills to psychologists, clinicians, educators and psychology residents.
