Located in Rose Garden, San Jose, Evolve’s partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs treat teens and children ages 12-17 with mental health, substance use, dual diagnosis, and/or behavioral issues. Our licensed, specialized staff utilize evidence-based treatments such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), daily group sessions and psychoeducation, individual and family therapy, multifamily groups, and psychiatry. We also integrate therapeutic modalities for addiction recovery, such as Relapse Prevention, DBT for Substance Abuse, 12-Step programs, and SMART Recovery. Many of our adolescents struggle with emotion dysregulation. They may display high-risk, self-harming or suicidal behaviors. DBT is research-proven to help reduce these issues. Through DBT, we teach our clients the skills needed for emotion regulation, distress tolerance, improved impulse control, and effective communication. Teens and children also receive daily academic support and participate in experiential therapies such as music, art, mindfulness, yoga, and psychodrama.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) has a high, research-proven success rate for adolescents with depression, anxiety, high emotional sensitivity, self-harming behaviors, and/or suicidal ideation. At Evolve Vanalden, we don’t just learn DBT—we live it. Our Comprehensive DBT treatment program is suited for teens ages 12-17 who struggle with these and other mental health, behavioral, and/or substance abuse issues. Evolve is one of the only treatment centers in the country that offers a Comprehensive DBT residential program for teens. We incorporate all four Comprehensive DBT requirements: individual & family therapy, 24/7 in-the-moment skills coaching, skills training groups, and a weekly consultation team. Teens learn the four core skills of DBT: Mindfulness, Emotion Regulation, Interpersonal Effectiveness, and Distress Tolerance and benefit from weekly psychiatric supervision, daily academic support, and daily experiential therapies including equine, surf, drama, music, art, yoga and more.
