Mental Health Intensive Outpatient Program/MH-IOP

The program is designed to serve adults age 18 and older who are experiencing some of the following symptoms: mood instability, racing thoughts, irritability, depressed mood, severe anxiety, poor concentration, sleep disturbance, lack of energy, negative thinking, and feeling hopeless about the future. The symptoms must be severe enough to interfere with functioning at work and/or interpersonal relationships. MH-IOP is an intensive treatment, conducted in a group setting. A combination of group therapy and closely monitored medication management has been validated by research as one of the most effective forms of treating various disorders.

The program is designed to serve adults age 18 and older who require aftercare after inpatient drug/alcohol rehab, are initiating abstinence again after a relapse, are new to recovery or who are coming to our Center for buprenorphine-supported recovery from opiate addiction. SA-IOP is a more intensive treatment than regular outpatient services, is conducted in a group setting in three-hour sessions, three times a week . The patient participates in a structured program with other patients, who are struggling with chemical dependency. Most patients complete the IOP program in 24 sessions (8 weeks.)

Psycho Drama/Playback Theater

Playback Theater is a type of improvisational theater where the audience shares their stories, and the actors play it back to the audience. It is a very effective as a tool for enhancing emotional intelligence, working on team building skills, improving communication skills, growing one’s self-esteem, training public speaking, but most of all, it is a lot fun! The group will address age-appropriate topics (friendship, life's purpose, belonging to groups/loneliness, relationships, etc). The group is led by a psychologist and a professional playback theater actor/ founder of a local playback theater troupe.
