Our relationships can be deep sources of meaning an fulfillment, and they can be the sources of some of the most significant stresses in our lives. By exploring the intricacies of your current situation and developing an understanding of how your past experiences might be impacting current dynamics, we can work to adjust problematic patterns. Together, we look at the patterns shaping your current situation. How you relate, where things get stuck, and how past experiences may be influencing present dynamics. From there, we work to interrupt what isn’t working, strengthen what is, and create more clarity, resilience, and connection.

I offer therapy sessions in-person, or online via video.
Many of the individuals I work with feel overwhelmed, stuck, or uncertain about their relationships or life direction. They may struggle with anxiety, depression, difficult relationships or family dynamics, chronic stress, or PTSD. As a Clinical Social Worker, I help adults move toward greater health, balance, and a stronger sense of self. I have a particular interest in helping people gain clarity about their relationships—whether romantic, family, or work-related—and exploring whether those relationships have the capacity to grow into a healthier place and what changes may be needed to support that growth.

We offer in-person sessions, virtual appointments, or a flexible mix of both to fit your lifestyle and preferences.
I work with individuals navigating complex trauma and ADHD, helping them reconnect with the many parts of themselves that influence how they think, feel, and act. Life experiences shape us, and sometimes parts of ourselves get “stuck” in survival mode. My approach is about recognizing, honoring, and healing these parts so they can move from reacting out of fear or past patterns to responding with awareness, choice, and resilience.Together, we explore the ways your mind, body, and past experiences intersect, building tools to manage overwhelm, regulate emotions, and navigate daily life with more clarity and confidence.

Currently accepting new clients, virtually or in person.
I’m Cassie—mom, wife, clinician, and small business owner. I came into this work because I saw too many people silently struggling—feeling alone, overwhelmed, and weighed down by unrealistic expectations. I focus on helping individuals who struggle with emotional regulation—learning how to recognize and understand big feelings, and develop healthier ways to cope. Over time, I've noticed a common thread across all ages and stages: many people were never taught how to understand or regulate their emotions. The same overwhelm that shows up in women during life transitions often appears in children anxiety, shutdown, or outbursts.

I offer therapy sessions in-person, I have offices in Janesville & Waunakee, as well as via video.
My journey to becoming a therapist started after returning home from a combat deployment, experiencing a devastating divorce and years of readjustment difficulties. During these deeply personal experiences, I became aware of the hurt and the brokenness we all face and now have a deep desire to help others to overcome as I did. I am passionate about helping couples find reconciliation and negotiating relationship pitfalls. As well as working with clients to heal from past trauma, manage their anxiety/depression, regulate anger or learn to value themselves again. You don't have to face it alone, there is hope.

You are the expert on your life and your own experiences. Together, we will create space for you to heal. Although at times you may feel broken, you aren’t in need of fixing; you are navigating systems that are unsatisfactory, which can leave anyone feeling fragmented. Support is the driving factor for change, and I aim to support you through whatever changes present themselves on your path to feeling whole. My clients begin to feel a sense of wholeness that comes from accepting their thoughts and feelings as valid parts of a human experience. These moments of connection in therapy extend into relationships with others and yourself.

I offer in-person and online therapy Tuesdays, Wednesdays, & Thursdays.
The number one thing that makes therapy work is the connection between client and therapist. I want to understand what's happening with you so that I can put my skills to good use and help you to meet your therapy goals. My methods are based on scientific research and on my professional experience as a therapist. Many of the techniques I use with clients are techniques that I have applied in my own life to reduce my own suffering and improve my own happiness. I practice much of what I preach, so I know firsthand that these methods work.

FAQ - About In Person Therapy
What are the benefits of in-person therapy?
In-person therapy offers several benefits that some people find highly valuable for their mental health treatment. Being present in the same room as your therapist can create a stronger sense of connection and allow for more nuanced communication through body language. Some people may also find it easier to focus in therapy when they are in a dedicated space and away from potential distractions related to home or work; attending an in-person session provides a clear boundary between therapy time and the rest of your life. For certain therapeutic approaches, such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), exposure therapy, or somatic therapy, being in person may be particularly important, as these therapies benefit from the therapist being able to observe and respond to a client’s physical cues effectively. Additionally, some individuals simply feel more comfortable discussing sensitive or painful topics when they are face-to-face with their therapist rather than on a screen.

When should I choose in-person therapy over online therapy?
In-person therapy may be a better choice when you need a structured therapeutic environment separate from your daily life, when you find it difficult to focus or feel comfortable in an online setting, or when privacy at home is a concern. It may also be more appropriate if you are dealing with severe mental health symptoms that require close monitoring or if your therapy involves approaches that rely heavily on observing physical cues. On the other hand, if convenience, scheduling flexibility, or access to specialists outside your immediate area are priorities, online therapy may be a better fit. Many therapists offer both options, so you can also discuss with a provider which format might work best for your specific situation.

How do I find an in-person therapist?
You can use Psychology Today's therapist directory to find an in-person therapist in your area. You can search by location, insurance accepted, specialty areas, therapeutic approaches, and other criteria to narrow down providers who meet your needs. Each therapist profile includes information about their credentials, areas of expertise, and whether they offer in-person sessions. Once you have identified potential therapists, you can contact them directly through the directory to schedule an initial consultation and determine whether they are a good fit before committing to ongoing treatment. When reaching out, it can be helpful to confirm their availability for in-person appointments, their office location, and whether they accept your insurance.
