Are you seeking healing through deeper connection—within yourself, your relationships, or your body? If working alongside this powerful animal feels grounding or meaningful, equine-facilitated psychotherapy (EFP) may be a good fit. I’m Amy Harvat, LPC, and this is Odie, my equine therapy partner. We are certified in H.E.A.L. equine-facilitated psychotherapy and learning and are excited to offer this trauma-informed, experiential approach at Modern Thrive Counseling. No horse experience needed—just curiosity and openness! EFP works by developing new limbic pathways that aid in nervous system regulation and creating true belonging.
EFP is Trauma-informed and clinically grounded, experiential and relational, rather than riding-based. Odie and I provide collaborative care with you and we honor your pace, consent, and autonomy. Sessions may support work around trauma, anxiety, relationship concerns, grief, identity, life transitions, and nervous system regulation.
If you’re feeling stuck, disconnected, or longing for a different way to heal, you’re not alone. Equine-facilitated psychotherapy offers a gentle, experiential path toward connection and regulation. If this speaks to you, I invite you to reach out and explore if EFP is the next step in your healing journey.
