I work with adults seeking to process and heal from traumatic experiences, with a focus on survivors of abuse and neglect. I aim to create a space for people to grieve, identify what you value, and take small steps towards stability and wholeness. I also work w/ couples seeking to enhance connection and communication. If you find yourself feeling disconnected from your partner, unheard or attacked during conflict, fearful of letting your partner down, or seeking to address triggers from past trauma with your partner, these are common issues I help couples address.

Most of my clients are looking for better ways to manage anxiety, depression, relationship issues, grief, and/or abusive relationships. Some are teenagers, some adults. No matter the age, they seek balance, meaning, and truth. They want to be better & show up in more positive ways for themselves and the ones they love. I'm Tammy Reade, a licensed professional counselor, having earned my degree from George Mason University in 2020. My path to counseling has been shaped by my personal journey, spanning over 25 years in the field. My diverse experience encompasses working with adults, couples, adolescents, and children. I've held roles such as a child protection worker, juvenile probation officer, advocate for domestic violence and sexual assault survivors, foster parent trainer, and jail therapist. Yet, my most meaningful role has been as an adoptive and foster parent for more than 22 years.

The clients that I work with have a wide varieties of things that they would like to improve in their lives. I work with children, adolescents, teens, adults, and families to help them live more peaceful lives. My goals is to help my clients better manage whatever is keeping them from having a calm and content existence.

I practice from the belief that humans are complex beings with amazing capabilities. Obstacles and challenging situations can block us from using our capabilities to their full potential, changing the ways we think, the ways that we live our lives, and the ways in which we relate to others. As a clinician, I believe that therapy can be used as a resource to for living out our potential. Everyone is capable of change, and I act as a resource for individuals in need to work through the limitations of health burdens, social injustices, relationship problems, and the other challenging issues.
