Our relationships with others, the world, and ourselves impacts our mental, emotional and physical wellbeing; it's actually what led me to this field. I learned a lot about relationships, family and people through trial and error...and error. In my pursuit to improve my family and marriage, it led me to graduate school and has opened me up to a wonderful career. It's my goal to help families, couples and individuals improve their lives and influence change in themselves and those around them. Therapy is a collaborative effort in which I walk alongside you, help you identify solutions, and work towards goals that work for your life.

I am passionate about helping individuals ages 10+ with a variety of presenting issues, including: depression, anxiety, trauma, family of origin problems, communication/boundaries, issues of faith/spirituality, suicidality/self harm, and self-worth. I hope to help my clients accomplish the goals they set for themselves, and to walk with them as they establish healthy rhythms. In my work, I like to focus on holistic health - mentally, emotionally, physically, socially, and spiritually. I believe above all, my clients need a safe space to be heard and to process what they are experiencing, and it is my greatest joy to provide this.

Every client is unique with a unique mindset and learning approach. Every client has different pain and trauma. I work with every client differently, because people process feelings and pain differently. I walk with every client through whatever circumstances they are struggling with and we work together to get to the root of the pain or problem, and into healing. I often use different modalities and techniques in order to best support and help the client.

Mental health challenges of your own or a loved one can cause such confusion and pain. Broken relationships can hurt so deeply. These things can put our lives in a wobble and cause us to lose meaning and joy in life. It can cause nagging anxiety or even depression; resulting in anxious thoughts playing on a loop in our minds, yet with the confusion of not knowing where to go from here. Rest assured that hope is just around the corner. You took the first step in reaching out and looking for help. We all need to feel seen and heard and know that we are not alone.

I am a licensed therapist passionate about helping people live authentic, intentional, value-filled lives. Getting to what matters and figuring out what is standing in your way isn’t going to be easy, but I promise I’ll work hard with you and that we’ll even share a few laughs along the way. My style is pretty laid back but I still think it’s important to have structure in our work so you have a clear idea of what we are working on and where we are headed.

I specialize in working with couples and individuals navigating disconnection, trauma/PTSD, loss/grief, and sexual difficulties. Most couples I work with have at least one of these two goals: communication and connection. They struggle to communicate their thoughts, feelings, and needs honestly and effectively; they struggle to feel deeply seen, supported, and loved within their relationship. Most individuals I work with seek to process traumatic experiences. Typically, past struggles continue to negatively shape present experiences and reduce or distort future hopes and expectations.

(DAY TIME, EVENING AND BI WEEKLY SATURDAY APPOINTMENTS ARE AVAILABLE). Now offering sessions for revisioning, grief and trauma as well as ETT (Emotional Transformation Therapy). Counseling is external moral support as you take the path to overcome barriers that block you from growing mentally and spiritually. I believe the therapy process is a collaborative relationship between the therapist and the client. An important part in the therapy process is setting goals and helping create a wholesome conceptualization of the client. I take an eclectic approach as everyone is different in their own way.

Female Therapists

Does it matter what gender my therapist is?

In general, this is not an important factor, as there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or ingrained beliefs about how people of different genders think and behave. Exploring the roots of such preferences and considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender truly matters to them.

Should I see a female therapist?

Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist, either because they believe that a woman will be able to relate to their specific challenges (for example, sexism in the workplace) or because they imagine feeling more comfortable disclosing sensitive information to a woman. Such beliefs may not turn out to be accurate, however, and adhering too rigidly to a gender preference can at times hinder a client from finding the best therapeutic match.

Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?

Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists—both men and women—may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.

How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?

It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
