I'm Mikayla, and I am the founder of MMCC. We know it's hard to be vulnerable with a new person, not knowing how they’ll react to what you tell them. As your counselor, our role is to meet you where you’re at, take your hand, and walk with you at your own pace. We are passionate for holistic, mindful mental health counseling for kids, teens, couples, and adults in areas including trauma, DV and sexual assault, grief, faith-based counseling, anxiety, depression, codependency, self-esteem, identity, self-harming behaviors, relationships, parenting, and more. With 11 counselors on our team, we aim to have a counselor for everyone.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate who holds a Master’s of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The University of Houston and a Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology from Sam Houston State University. I am supervised by Rebecca Smith, LPC - Supervisor in Montgomery County. I utilize a combination of cognitive behavioral therapy, person centered therapy, and various other modalities to customize a treatment plan for each client.

I have my Ph. D. in Life Counseling, which allows me to provide direction for my clients. Through many years experience working with all types of clients, I have made inroads in helping them find peace and direction. I am open to working with most clients and feel that my experience and training has prepared me for almost anything. My doctorate degree was in Holistic Life Counseling, which allows me to use my skills to help clients to achieve a life of peace and happiness.

It begins with you. My expertise is working with people who have been abused, neglected, or in any way traumatized and survivors of sexual abuse. With the use of techniques such as CBT, mindfulness practices, and solution-focused therapy, one can gain the empowerment to develop practical strategies for overcoming obstacles and achieving their goals. Kevin’s work also includes Play Therapy for young children. This approach allows them to process emotions, work through challenges, and express themselves using creative activities and play.
