I graduated from Rhode Island College with my Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Social Work; as well as, I am licensed in Rhode Island and Maine as a Licensed Clinical Therapist. While I specialize with adults and couples, my experiences have also been in providing individual therapy for middle and high-school aged students with co-occurring substance abuse and mental health challenges, Couples Therapy, adult/ teen depression, Anxiety, addiction with older adults, care givers grief, care giver support, and hospice. I have had a vast amount of experience in the treatment of a wide variety of mental and behavioral health concerns.

Dr. Ellen Curran earned her master's and doctorate degrees in Clinical Psychology at the University of Hartford. She has been practicing for 15+ years in a variety of settings including preschools, adolescent shelters and residential programs, K-5 schools for those with and without significant mental health diagnoses, pediatric hospital settings and college counseling centers. Dr. Curran believes in a strengths-based and collaborative approach in which she joins with people in an empathic manner to help motivate and guide them towards the positive change they seek.

Maia Roper is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in Rhode Island who has been practicing since 2017. She received her Bachelors in Psychology from New England College and her Masters in Social Work from Simmons College. Maia offers a unique therapeutic experience that creates a comfortable setting to build clinical rapport. Marissa Ford is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in Rhode Island who has been practicing since 2013. Krystal Machado is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Rhode Island who has been practicing since 2010. She has a Bachelor of Science in Communicative Disorders and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Rhode Island, an MA in Counseling with a concentration in educational psychology and a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in School Psychology from Rhode Island College, and a Doctor of Psychology in School Psychology from William James.

Operations Director, Rhode Island Dr. Jonathan Gershon is a clinical psychologist who has been practicing for over twenty years. He obtained his doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Emory University in Atlanta, GA. He completed his internship at the Boston Consortium in child psychology and behavioral medicine. His postdoctoral fellowship was at the Brown University Training Consortium and Bradley Hospital. Dr. Gershon received his bachelor's degree from Northwestern University. Dr. Galliotte earned her doctoral degree in clinical psychology at William James College. She completed a pre-doctoral consortium at the Brenner Center for Psychological Assessment and Consultation in Newton, MA and a post-doctoral fellowship at Gershon Psychological Associates in Rhode Island. Dr. Galliotte completed her undergraduate studies at Florida International University and obtained her Master of Science degree in counseling with an emphasis in Applied Behavior Analysis at NOVA Southeastern University.

Joseph (Jef) Faulkner is married with 4 school-aged children. He is a regular distance runner. And in his free-time, he likes to read all kinds of fiction- even historical fiction- and biography (which he is doing right now! ). He also loves to take walks with the family dog. Jef has worked in the mental health field for over thirty-five years. He is a licensed clinical social worker and he specializes in doing child and family therapy.

Laura Valois has been a licensed clinician in Rhode Island since 2017. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Spanish from Fairfield University in Connecticut and her Doctor of Psychology in Clinical Psychology with a focus on Latino Mental Health and Children and Families of Adversity and Resilience from William James College in Massachusetts. She completed her post-doctoral internship at Gershon Psychological Associates in Rhode Island. In addition to her work as a therapist and evaluator at LifeStance, she also teaching Doctoring at Brown Medical School.

Kimberly Palmisano is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Rhode Island who has been practicing since 2023. Kimberly enjoys mindfulness and incorporates it into her sessions regularly. She also focuses on a client's strengths and goals. Kimberly hopes to empower clients to live their best lives. Outside of work, Kimberly loves to spend time with her animals. She has a small backyard farm with horses, goats, and chickens and also shares her home with 3 dogs and 2 cats.

Adetutu Ajibose, PsyD earned her Doctor of Psychology degree from William James College. Her major area of concentration was in African and Caribbean Mental Health and Children and Families of Adversity and Resilience (CFAR). She completed her APA-accredited pre-doctoral internship at Roger Williams University in Bristol, Rhode Island and at the Brenner Center in Newton, MA. She utilizes client-centered approaches to therapy, trauma-informed therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and positive psychology.

Lauren Charness, EdM, is an intern who is completing her doctorate degree in the Combined School-Clinical Child Psychology program at Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology in New York. Prior to pursuing her doctorate, Lauren received a Masters of Education in school psychology as well as a Masters in Educational Psychology: Schooling from Columbia University’s Teachers College. Lauren has significant experience conducting neuropsychological evaluations, therapy, executive function support, and consultation in a variety of settings including schools, private practice, and out-patient clinics.

This practice consists of 3 clinicans who are client-focused utilizing a family system model and evidence-based therapies tailored to enrich success in completing therapeutic goals. The services are provided with efficiency, thoughtfulness, and as team with the client (children and young adults) and/or family. We each have our own specific training and/or certifications including crisis intervention, CBT, Solution-Focus, Exposure Response Therapy, Motivational interviewing, and DBT. In addition, we also provide group therapy. We have professional experiences within various settings: Outpatient, Inpatient, and Emergency settings.

My 25 plus years of experience has been working with children, youth and their families who have a history of trauma/abuse and neglect and struggle with relationships. I have experience in public child welfare, working with RI Family Court, RI Superior Court and various other state and community service agencies. I have worked with victims of violence as well as offenders. My work focuses around helping parents, young adults and children who have struggled with their behavioral health; depression, substance use disorders, anger management, communication, relationship issues and school functioning.

Cheryl L. Lacey is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in Rhode Island who has been practicing since 2011. She received her MSW from Bridgewater State University. Cheryl believes in providing a safe, trauma-informed space for clients to work through their concerns, at their own pace without judgement. She has worked extensively with children and adolescents struggling with social, emotional, and behavioral issues. An additional area of focus is Women's Issues including anxiety, depression, and stage of life concerns.

David D. Cotter, Ph.D. received his doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Western Michigan University. Dr. Cotter comes to Gershon Psychological Associates, LLC with a background in community mental health, psychological assessment, and residential care. He conducted comprehensive diagnostic assessments at the Behavioral and Developmental Pediatrics program at MSU/KCMS and his pre-doctoral internship training through the Nebraska Internship Consortium in Professional Psychology at Boys Town, NE. His interests include individual therapy, family therapy, parent-training, and psychological assessments.

Julia Bussolari is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Rhode Island who has been practicing since 2019. She completed the RIC graduate program in 2019. Julia has worked with children with disabilities for more than 20 years. She has met with families of children with disabilities and helped them cope with their diagnosis and behaviors. She has also treated adults and children with anxiety, depression, PTSD, and ADHD. In her free time, Julia enjoys animals and traveling.
