I graduated from Rhode Island College with my Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Social Work; as well as, I am licensed in Rhode Island and Maine as a Licensed Clinical Therapist. While I specialize with adults and couples, my experiences have also been in providing individual therapy for middle and high-school aged students with co-occurring substance abuse and mental health challenges, Couples Therapy, adult/ teen depression, Anxiety, addiction with older adults, care givers grief, care giver support, and hospice. I have had a vast amount of experience in the treatment of a wide variety of mental and behavioral health concerns.
My specialty is with older adults, care giver support and couples. My philosophy of practice is to provide strength-based and solution-focused therapy. My goal when working with clients is to create a safe environment while promoting strengths and growth within oneself. I will work collaboratively with clients to promote empowerment through those strengths.
I promote checking in with clients, supporting them via chat and email between sessions to ensure they do not feel left alone between sessions. It is important to build the trust and connection between client and therapist. Setting healthy, yet supportive boundaries for both.
