I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Georgia, Washington DC, and Texas with a decade of professional work experience ranging from adolescents to adults. I help clients with family conflicts, life transitions, parenting issues, mood disorders, depression, trauma, and anxiety. I work with clients to create an open and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment. My goal is to collectively work with you to decrease behaviors and return to a prior level of functioning. The first step to seeking a more fulfilling and happier life takes courage. I am here to support you in that process.

Susannah Smith, Ph.D., is an Executive Coach, Systems Consultant, and Clinical & Forensic Psychologist, with active licenses in Colorado, California, Mississippi, Texas and Louisiana. She is a member of the National Register of Health Service Psychologists. Dr. Smith graduated with honors from Vassar College in Social Psychology; completed her M.S. in Clinical Psychology at San Jose State University in California; and received her Ph.D. from the California School of Professional Psychology in San Diego, with a double emphasis in clinical psychology and organizational development consulting. She is a Certified Trauma Specialist.

I have been working with individuals struggling with posttraumatic stress disorder, substance use, sexual addiction and mental health challenges for the past ten years. I have a real heart to walk alongside to encourage, support, and empower you to move forward in your recovery needs. I graduated from Liberty University in 2014 with a MA in Professional Counseling and completing a Doctoral level specialization in Community Care and Counseling specializing in treating trauma-related challenges. I approach recovery through the eyes of motivational interviewing and cognitive-behavioral therapy.

Everyone wants to be heard and everyone can benefit from regular routine therapy. For those of us who want to check in from time to time due to life stressors such as work life balance, family dynamics, or life coaching. To those of us that seek to resolve trauma or decrease symptoms associated with mental health diagnosis. Counseling is for us all and should be a regular part of one’s life experience.

I am both naturally empathetic and curious; these two qualities create a strong desire to understand the inner workings of every person I meet. In therapy, I work adolescents (14 +), individuals (18+), families, and couples seeking help with anxiety, depression, ADHD, self-esteem, people- pleasing, life transitions, college issues, parenting concerns, interpersonal issues, young adult concerns, and relationship concerns to achieve overall wellness and wholeness.
