I received my Master of Arts in Counseling with a concentration in marriage, couples, and family as well as a certification in play therapy from Sam Houston State University. I completed my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at Texas A&M University. I am Level 2 certified in Gottman Method Couples Therapy and am supervised by Marion Marold Vickerman LMFT-S.

Taking the first step to seek counseling takes courage. For some, it can be scary, intimidating and uncomfortable. My goal is to help make it one of the best decisions of your life. Because therapy is not a "one size fits all" approach, I integrate various treatment models and tailor them to an individual's needs.

I am a therapist who will make myself available to you. My approach to therapy is simple . . . person (you) centered, though I use others (cognitive behavioral, eclectic, reality/choice, brief solution, etc.) based upon the need of the client. I have a proven track record of success in helping clients from a variety of backgrounds. My main goal is helping you and or your family find effective solutions. Know that I bring an attitude of providing impeccable person centered therapy to each every client and session.

Everyone experiences different challenges throughout life that could result in physical, social, emotional, and mental distress that requires help navigating through the rough times. Gaining access to the instruments and understanding how to use the tools is necessary to locate the direction to move and continue with forward progress. Hi, I am Tamara. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and I am glad you are starting your therapy journey here! I have been in the social work field for 10 years mostly working in hospice, end-of-life settings, and grief counseling. Now in my clinical practice, I’ve worked with clients who struggle with depression, anxiety, coping with terminal illnesses, caregiver burnout, compassion fatigue, and many other concerns. I feel that every life has multiple seasons and often those seasons can be difficult, lonely, and even scary. I want to help you walk through it, side by side, at your pace.

While each client has unique needs, my approach is Person-centered and Humanistic. I typically use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Interviewing techniques; however, I have an eclectic approach overall. I sometimes draw interventions from Brief Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. I also believe it is important to be multifaceted since therapy is not one-size-fits-all, so therapy will be an assimilation of different techniques that are catered to client needs.

Through my counseling practice, I desire to empower others to achieve a balanced state of wellbeing, discover their self-worth, reach their fullest potential, and live joyfully. I provide a safe, welcoming, and non-judgmental space for my client’s voice to be heard. Past trauma and current life transitions can be painful and difficult; however, I believe that each of us has the ability to heal and grow stronger. Counseling is a tool that helps us recognize harmful beliefs and behavior patterns, learn new skills with which to resolve problems, and facilitate lasting positive change in our lives.

I love working with women to uncover their personal gifts and strengths so they can heal, grow, and make deeper connections. Mothering, mother-daughter dynamics, life transitions, sex/intimacy, bringing play back into your life, & relationships are women’s issues I enjoy working with. I also work with HSPs (highly sensitive persons), TCKs (third culture kids), cross-cultural workers, and professional athlete’s wives (and other career dominated marriages). I’ve always been drawn to growth and strength-based approaches, and I use the research-based and highly successful theories of Drs. John & Julie Gottman for couples counseling.

Dr. Jocelyn Jones is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) who has over 16 years of experience working in the mental health, behavioral health, and substance abuse fields. Dr. Jones works with the adult and geriatric community and loves to share words of wisdom with individuals to find clarity and ways to cope and overcome life stressors. Her counseling specialties include anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, spirituality, bereavement; grief, loss, alcohol, and drug abuse, and much more. Dr. Jones has a Doctoral degree in Professional Counseling with a concentration in trauma, grief, and loss, in addition to holding two Master's.

I love to be the non-judgmental, curious, and client-centered person that is there to lift you up and make sense of how things are going in your life. Seeing lives change and people fall in love with themselves and their life again is my absolute favorite thing. We all need a helping hand at times. As a LPC, I have been gifted to operate as a Counselor and I do not take my gift lightly.
