I earned a master's degree in Mental Health Counseling & Behavioral Medicine from Boston University School of Medicine, complementing my double major in Psychology and Sociology from the State University of New York at Buffalo. I offer counseling services and mental health support to individuals of all ages and backgrounds, specializing in Sports Psychology as a designated provider for the Philadelphia Eagles and use the evidence-based Eco-Systemic Family Therapy Model to help families, couples, and individuals achieve their treatment goals.

I specialize in helping adults and teens who are depressed, anxious, stressed or angry secondary to experiences of being discriminated against. I use cognitive-behavioral, interpersonal and positive psychology approaches in my treatment.

I provide individual therapy for adolescents, teens, adults, as well as couples, families, and group counseling. Through a highly personalized approach tailored to each client's individual needs, I assist clients in identifying limiting beliefs and outmoded coping mechanisms that may be standing in the way. I work with a wide range of emotional and behavioral issues. I have extensive experience and interest in working with individuals looking to recover from the effects of growing up in alcoholic or other dysfunctional households. Adversity and traumatic experiences are common. Strategies to reduce the impacts can include numbing, detaching, becoming depressed/hopeless, compulsiveness (i.e. acting without thinking), over-functioning, over-responsibility, avoidance, isolation, perfectionism, procrastination, hypervigilance and many others. All of which are protective and helpful when needed but often lead to inner conflict and unintended blowback including feelings of shame and worthlessness.

Dr. Weicker also has been a College Professor in Anatomy and Physiology Pathophysiology, Nutrition and Herbs and Medicine college courses for 20 years, Penn State, Alvernia University, and Lehigh Carbon Community College.
