In working with children and adolescents (ages 5-17) you accept the responsibility of meeting with a population who may not have consented to therapy. Although guardians act within the child's best interest, the intervention may not be something the adolescent supports at the time. With this understanding, my primary goal is to simply connect regardless of who walks through that door. Progress cannot occur without a strong and trusting therapeutic relationship. Since starting in the field about 20 years ago, I have had the privilege of working therapeutically with diverse populations in various clinics, hospitals, and schools. Over the past several years I have focused on treating clinical and forensic clients through my private practice. I am currently accepting new clients to be seen either virtually or in person at my office in Phoenixville, PA.

In therapy, I try to understand and accept each person. That builds the client's self-esteem. Then I work together with the client to find the unique solution to his or her trouble, whether it's depression, or anxiety, or relationship problems. Different people need different kinds of help, so I don't limit myself to one kind of therapy. I'm trained in several, so the client and I pick the methods we think will help him or her the most. The relationship is one of mutual respect moving forward to overcome an obstacle to the client's happiness.

Whether there is a need to modify their current school program, or decide if they would benefit from a different learning setting altogether, I offer 35 years of experience evaluating and counseling elementary through college-age students. I strive to have students feel relaxed and successful during the process and convey results in user-friendly language to help parents best understand their child's learning attributes and how to provide for growth.
