I have worked in community mental health for over 10 years and have found that we all struggle at times and benefit from the support of others. I have a great deal of experience in the treatment of mood disorders, anxiety, crisis, life-transitions, stress-related disorders and vocational counseling. I work with each individual to develop a goal plan that is person-centered and based on their strengths and abilities.

I offer many years of experience in treating anxiety and depression, as well as trauma. Unaddressed trauma is often the cause of anxiety and depression. I use an eclectic, holistic approach and have interest in spirituality and religion. I am trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitizing and Reprocessing) and Thought Field Therapy, both state of the art treatments. Also experienced in all types of family and couples work, adoption adjustment work and attachment problems. Physical health is addressed and suggestions are made and referrals given if needed. Good with anxiety in people of all ages. Good with teenagers and children over age five.

I started working in the Lehigh Valley in 1979 after post-doctoral training in marriage and family therapy. My focus now is on helping people age through their senior years with creativity and grace, using writing, visual images, and a psychological and spiritual method called SoulCollage®. I assist people going through transitions in their lives as well as those who are stuck. My ideal client is between the ages of 40 and 80+, who is eager to learn about him/her self and move ahead with insight and wisdom. I also work with couples at all stages and writing memoirs.

My private practice was founded in October 2003, providing outpatient and in-home counseling services to over 300 children and families. I have extensive experience working with adults and couples. Since October 2013, I have treated over 250 adults and their family members at my outpatient office in Alpha.
