Throughout the years I've found opportunities to work with various populations ranging in ages, diagnoses, goals, & approaches. I have extensive experience working with children & adolescents on the autism spectrum, as well as with parents to teach skills to manage behavioral issues. I also do family counseling, including with families & adoption. I work with with children & adolescents with trauma, anxiety, & behavioral issues (oppositional defiant disorder, intermittent explosive disorder, ADHD, & reactive attachment disorder). I have experience working with the female population struggling with drug/alcohol addiction, as well as individuals with anxiety, depression, andd mood difficulties.

You’ll find a relaxed & informal atmosphere in my office. Bodhi, the therapy dog, and I offer counseling to adults who would like help with anxiety/fears; injuries, illnesses, accidents and other trauma-related issues; negative thoughts; relationships; stress reduction/mindfulness; creativity and sports performance enhancement, & compassion fatigue. Good grief. I do not envy anyone scrolling through these profiles! Fact is, life is hard and can feel overwhelming. People disappoint us, and truth be known, we disappoint ourselves. It can feel like we are caught up in repeating the same dysfunctional patterns over and over. The good news is, if you’ve noticed this and are sick of it, you might be ready to face your demons more honestly and constructively. I often describe good therapy as being simply a safe place to discover these patterns (while also learning that we have a resistance and a reluctance to be free of them).

Each of us needs to find a way to interact with our world in the best way we can. Sometimes, things happen that make this difficult. Everyone deserves to have someone listen to them and hear them.

My practice combines compassion and creativity to connect with individuals and families. It is through this connection that I will guide one through life's challenges and assist individuals and families in discovering and focusing on one's strengths and potential for growth. My own experiences, as a parent of a special needs child, have enriched my work as a therapist and helped me gain a richer understanding of the importance of a strong support system.
