RH Counseling & Consulting seeks to provide healing by incorporating therapeutic services that meets the mental, emotional, spiritual needs of its clients. I have worked in the field of mental health as a therapist for approximately twenty one years and have treated clients with depression, anxiety, mood disorders, personality disorders, anger, and etc., using cognitive behavioral approaches to therapy. I believe in taking a comprehensive approach in bringing about healing to those who are mentally and emotionally stuck or in pain.

Everyone experiences feelings of anxiety, stress, sadness, and other feelings that are difficult from time to time. When emotional or behavioral problems are disrupting your life, it may be time to reach out for help. At FFC, we offer Individual Therapy, Couples Therapy, Family Therapy, Group Therapy, Telehealth, Consultation, and Community Education as means to help our community "Learn. Heal. Thrive."

I have over twenty-five years in the mental health profession. I have worked in a variety of positions providing alcohol and drug counseling, marital and family therapy, individual therapy for children, adolescents and adults. I have been employed with some of the major mental health centers in Memphis and Shelby County such as Northeast Community Mental Health Center, Midtown Mental Health Center and Southwest Mental Health Center. I specialize in working with marital issues, relationships issues, children and adolescents disorders, Trauma issues, occupational problems, and other major life issues.

I view counseling as a vital practice that involves connection, commitment, and hope for change. I’m able to recognize the courage it takes for anyone to ask for help, and I want to recognize the strength it takes to chose to ask for what you need. I focus on approaching each therapeutic relationship with understanding to begin building trust and open communication. My desire is to be able to provide a safe place for anyone to feel heard and work together to allow for growth.

"Our Secrets Keep Us Sick". The type of clients I am seeking would be those persons interested in understanding the role of themselves which has lead to unhealthy thinking and behaviors. I believe in honesty and accountability in order to move forward with emotional wellness and stability. We have a journey we must all travel for self love and self care.

I provide a confidential, non-judgmental, and accepting environment to process the influences of family patterns, personal history, and social expectations that may or may not match your authentic inner self. Together, we will find effective strategies to manage the causes of your anxiety so that you may experience inner peace, harmony, and self-confidence. I use a mindfulness-based approach to empower people as they engage in self-discovery or work through interpersonal conflict.

I believe in the healing and transformational power of therapy. My work over 40 years with individuals, couples and families has shown that we have the ability to change ourselves, our relationships, our families and the world when we commit to learning and growing. I am open to the uniqueness of each individual without judgment. I have a background in spirituality and offer that as a resource for healing, if wanted and when appropriate. I believe that relationships are challenging and that we can learn skills to improve communication, intimacy, respect and trust with those we love.

You thought you’d be past this by now. Everyone says, “Time heals all wounds,” but it still isn’t any easier. If anything, things are becoming more difficult. The world never stopped moving because of your loss, but at least people gave you time and space to grieve. Now, that grace period has elapsed, and friends and family are all wondering when you’ll “get on with your life.” While the comments don't help, you wish you had an answer for them but you simply don’t know. You go through the motions of life, doing what you need to, but you’re checked out. Hiding from the world, avoiding any reminders of your loss. You feel trapped.
