My mission is to help my clients find freedom and healing from past traumas. My clinical experience has involved 5 years of working with individuals suffering from addiction, anxiety, depression, and processing traumatic experiences. Many people struggle with perfectionism, need to feel in control, social anxiety, feelings of inferiority and fears of abandonment.

I am a licensed professional counselor, holding a Master of Arts in Professional Counseling that I received in 2015 from Liberty University. I have experience working with adults and teens struggling with addiction - substance and gambling, as well as with family members touched by addiction. I also have experience working with adults and teens struggling with different forms of mental illness, grief, trauma, and life change.

My heart and passion is to see others achieve happiness and healthiness. To be the best version of themselves possible. I want to share a goal with my clients to create a partnership where clients feel empowered for growth, healing, and positive change. Although I have a traditional office setting offered year round, for those who are interested in a new approach to problem solving, I offer an alternative approach to traditional counseling by linking clients with horses during their sessions. Equine Assisted Counseling or equine assisted therapy, incorporates horses into families, and individual counseling sessions to facilitate emotional growth and learning.

LaVesea is passionate about youth; youth who have difficulties with parents and/or family dynamics, anxiety and depression who look forward and are ready to navigate healing. LaVesea works with BIPOC clients who continue to navigate systemic oppression and are prepared to work through how it has effect relationships with others as well as how they view the world. She is also passionate about working with assisting BIPOC navigate and work through depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation, self- harm.

I enjoy working with people who struggle with depression and/or anxiety. Ideally, their goals would be to improve their overall functioning and quality of life. My ideal client would be able to put in the necessary work to accomplish their goals. My therapy style is authentic, empathetic, and validating. I believe in incorporating various treatment modalities that are based on the individual needs of my clients.

I specialize in seeing clients who struggle with over-controlled personality types. Do you work too much? Want things to be perfect? Strongly dislike being out of control of situations? Or feel like you have to do things in order for them to be done correctly? My ideal client is simply a client looking to learn and grow. I have treated such a wide variety of diagnoses and people from all over the country. I am open to most clients as long as they are adults.

Do you want to improve your anxiety and relationships in order to improve your overall functioning? My ideal client would be someone who is ready to make changes and begin therapy. I would enjoy working with someone with goals but may need some help clarifying them and creating a plan to work toward them.

Are you a young adult woman experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship issues, self-esteem issues, and even trauma? Self-discovery and creating/finding identity are goals I work best with. In my most recent job, I have found that domestic violence survivors and women who experience issues specific to being a woman have piqued my interest. As a therapist, the most rewarding thing is to guide women toward embracing themselves for who they are, heal past wounds, and empower them to live fully and authentically. I believe I have been given a purpose in this world to serve others, and that's what I was created to do.
