Dan understands taking the first step towards therapy is hard and that therapy can feel awkward. He enjoys building rapport with each client, so they feel comfortable throughout therapy. He enjoys helping clients who struggle with anxiety learn how to take back control of their daily life and work towards gaining the ability to manage their anxiety. Dan has experience with other issues that may impact individuals on a daily basis, such as depression, life transitions, anger, adjustments, school and social issues.

I'm trained in family system theory and understand the social, behavioral, emotional, and cognitive challenges many encounter. I use evidence-based modalities such as CBT, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Mindfulness, Talk Therapy, and the use of Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) through The Institute For Creative Mindfulness, an approved EMDRIA training facility. I received a Master of Social Work from Tulane University, a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of New Orleans, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Writing Arts from State University of New York at Oswego. I have worked in community-based mental health as well as private practice. Before counseling, I taught in schools in New Orleans and Boston, working with students with disabilities. I am located in Ohio and am also licensed to practice virtually in Florida.

Trauma is powerful. When individuals experience trauma it is both a physical and psychological experience. It can shake us to our core and can change the way we perceive ourselves and our world. We may no longer feel that we can trust in others. Or we may feel that we are alone and we will never recover. We can experience intense emotions such as feelings of shame, guilt, hopelessness, worthlessness, anxiety, depression, anger and despair. Wellness Grove offers the most advanced, professional, and streamlined mental health and wellness services to the community and beyond. We provide individual, couples, and family counseling sessions that can be attended in-person or remotely through telehealth.
