We all need others in order to better see and understand ourselves. In our sessions we will work together to create a space built upon trust that fosters growth and insight. Therapy should be dynamic, and sometimes I'll be there to witness and support, other times I'll be more active and inquisitive.

Sometimes the hardest thing to do is to ask for help. Especially when you are feeling the effects of stress, anxiety and/or depression. Just by looking for a therapist, you have already taken some of your first steps towards change and the healing process. You are doing great and just like everyone else; it helps to have someone in your corner. That’s where I come in. I am here to listen to your concerns and help you navigate the troubled waters that can be our thoughts and feelings. In my practice I provide a warm empathetic understanding coupled with real down to earth accountability.

I have transitioned my office and hospital practice of 40 years fully to tele health modalities. It is a pleasure to be able to treat patients on a mutually convenient platform that saves time and travel that still builds strong working relationships built on trust and honest collaboration.

I work best with people who are seeking to find out what is working and what’s not working in their lives and how to become “unstuck.” My ideal clients are motivated by a desire for change, even if they’re unsure where to start. They may feel overwhelmed, stuck in patterns that no longer serve them, or frustrated by life transitions, stress, or anxiety. They want clarity, practical tools, and a supportive space to explore new possibilities. They are open to taking an active role in the process, and they value collaboration and actionable strategies that lead to real progress.

In my 30 years of practice I've successfully treated the unique concerns that bring men into therapy. These include mid-life and aging issues, career insecurity, burnout, transitions; relationship problems; and the gamut of addictive behaviors (sex, porn, gambling, substances, etc.). Symptoms most often associated with these life problems include depression, anxiety, avoidance, isolation, and sexual dysfunction. Because they aren't comfortable exposing their vulnerabilities men often need encouragement to seek therapy. If that sounds like you, or someone you know, please contact me for a free 20 minute consultation. I can help!

I work with adults, adolescents and families who are struggling with anxiety, depression or interpersonal problems. My approach to therapy is eclectic since different people require different types of interventions. However, my primary approaches include psychodynamic and cognitive behavior therapy. I try to create a warm and understanding relationship where my patients can feel free to examine their own lives and find some helpful ways of responding to their problems.

Deciding to begin psychotherapy is one of the kindest and most important choices you can make for yourself. It can be a turning point in your life, but it can also feel scary to talk to someone you don't know well. I work with individuals and couples, providing a warm, safe, confidential environment where I will listen carefully and where we will work together to understand and resolve the issues you are struggling with—both in terms of how they affect your current life and in terms of how they became issues in the first place.

You're crushing it on paper—great job, solid relationship, checking all the "adult" boxes—but something feels off. You're struggling with existential dread, climate anxiety, and that nagging feeling you're just going through the motions. Despite being surrounded by people, you feel alone and stuck. You want MORE—real purpose, authentic connections, a life that actually feels like YOURS. You're tired of pretending everything's fine when you're secretly uncertain about the future. You want to feel grounded, hopeful, and genuinely connected to yourself and others.

Many of the people I work with feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or stuck in patterns they can’t quite explain. Some are dealing with anxiety, relationship stress, or repeating emotional cycles that leave them feeling alone even when surrounded by people. Others are trying to communicate better, rebuild trust, or simply understand themselves on a deeper level. My clients usually want clarity, relief, and a place where they can finally slow down and feel understood, not judged.

I work well with people who feel like they are cycling through repeating patterns in their life, particularly in relationships with their family, at work, or in relationship with their Self. My clients are insightful and brave. They tend to need gentle encouragement to see things slightly differently and develop more security. I use a combination of different types of therapies and techniques, depending on the particular problems someone is struggling with. These techniques help people establish boundaries in their families, behavioral change for harmful habits and addictions, and assertive communication skills.

Life can be challenging to navigate for a variety of reasons. Regardless of age, gender, or background, many individuals seek balance and fulfillment, yet circumstances—both internal and external—can sometimes hinder progress toward personal goals. My role is to help you explore these challenges and work collaboratively toward meaningful change.

I believe the way we think is not random, instead it’s shaped by our experiences, environment, and the beliefs we’ve adopted to make sense of them. I help clients examine these patterns, challenge what no longer serves them, and develop more effective ways of navigating complex situations. I work with people who know what needs to change but can’t seem to execute it consistently. Whether you’re dealing with anxiety, emotional overwhelm, relationship challenges, or major life transitions, my focus is helping you develop clarity, control, and forward momentum.

FAQ - Therapist Gender
As a man, why might I want to see a male therapist?
There are many reasons a man might wish to work with a male therapist, including a degree of shared identity, which may help client and therapist connect to each other and allow for a more free-flowing discussion of issues that can be deeply personal. Some men may feel more comfortable talking to a male therapist about relationship concerns, the pressures they feel around the roles society and family place on men, career or job challenges, self-esteem, or anger problems. For some men who have not had a male role models in their lives, a good male therapist may be especially helpful.

How can I find out about a therapist’s experience treating men?
Individuals looking for treatment should feel comfortable directly asking a therapist about their history treating men overall and the issues that arise in therapy with men. A good therapist will be happy to discuss such matters as well as their educational background, approach to treatment, and how they think they can aid a prospective client.

Can clients benefit from having a therapist of the same gender?
Therapy is not gender-specific, but some men as well as women feel more comfortable opening up about their experiences and history with therapists of a specific gender. An individual may feel that they have to explain less background information and be on the same page more quickly, particularly when discussing gender-specific challenges. That said, a good clinician can transcend most if not all gender concerns. Ultimately, the most important factor in therapy is the connection and trust the client is able to build with the practitioner.

Would a male therapist have specific training in treating men?
Generally, no. There are no certifications for treating men specifically, but there are continuing education classes that therapists may take that focus on treating men as a group. There are many therapists who focus on men and male issues in their treatment and therefore have experience and expertise in this domain.
