I am a therapist with 30 years of experience in the field. I work with individuals, couples and families of all types and sizes. I am a Safe Space for all. I work with people who are experiencing difficulties in their relationships, who have experienced trauma; physical, sexual or emotional, are or have been depressed and/or anxious and who are in or are working towards recovery.

With 40 years of experience, I am a results-oriented family psychologist treating adults, adolescents and children (especially for anxiety and depression). I have published 7 books based upon scientifically based treatments for specific psychological and behavioral issues, pioneering effective strategies for attention deficit disorders. About 15 years ago I developed a sub-specialty called "Pain to Joy:" where psychological and physical pain or tension are transformed into healthy, joyful living. Dr. Avon attended Stony brook U. There she trained under the late Dr. Edward Carr in Behavioral Therapy, with a focus on, Applied Behavioral Analysis. She then continued her education at Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale, FL where she received her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology. There she spent many years under the supervision of Dr. Charles Golden refining her skills in Neuropsychology serving a variety of children with learning disorders and developmental disabilities. After completing graduate school, Dr. Avon pursued further training in the areas of Autism Spectrum Disorders and other Developmental Disabilities.
