Dr. Shirin Zarqa-Lederman is a counseling psychologist specializing in trauma services and community psychology, holding a PhD in the field. She is a licensed professional counselor (LPC) and licensed clinical drug and alcohol counselor (LCADC) based in New Jersey, working with clients globally. Prior to establishing her private practice, Dr. Shirin was a program coordinator for a NJ adolescent substance abuse program, where she developed treatment curriculum for group and family therapy. Later, she worked as a community liaison for this program and three others in New York, coordinating psychiatric and substance abuse care.

In my practice, I provide psychotherapy for people presenting with a wide variety of difficulties. My areas of specialty include anxiety, depression, relationship issues, parenting difficulties, and self- esteem. I provide a supportive environment in which we work together to discover obstacles to happiness and fulfillment and how to remove them. I assist clients in investigating the history of their struggles as well as current contributing factors to create a plan for successful change. Using insight oriented psychotherapy, along with cognitive-behavioral approaches, I work with clients to empower them to change their own lives.

I am a licensed professional counselor that has been working in behavioral health for over 20 years. I am a lifelong resident of South Jersey and obtained my Bachelors and Masters degrees from La Salle University in Philadelphia.

I am a bilingual licensed clinical social worker with a private practice in East Windsor, NJ. I conduct therapy sessions in English and Spanish. Specializing in working with individuals who have experienced trauma, my focus here is twofold: childhood sexual abuse (victims and nonoffending parents) and eating/weight problems. I also work with individuals who are experiencing depression, anxiety, grief and loss, family issues, stage of life issues, and sexuality issues. I work with people of all ages: children (6-12), preteens (11-13), adolescents/teenagers (14-19), adults (20 and older), and older adults (65 and older).

I help my clients learn concrete coping skills and effective ways to take control of their lives.
