Welcome. I work with children, adolescents, young adults, adults, and families navigating identity, family expectations, and belonging in diaspora communities. Many of my clients come from Arab and Muslim backgrounds, including families from Palestine, Syria, Lebanon, and Jordan balancing culture, faith, and life in the United States. Living between cultures can create unique pressures. Many people I work with are part of immigrant or first generation families, and some identify as third culture kids. Navigating assimilation, acculturation, and family expectations can lead to anxiety, depression, chronic stress, and family conflict.
For some individuals these experiences also appear as post traumatic stress disorder symptoms including hypervigilance, intrusive memories, sleep disruption, and feeling constantly on edge. Many families also carry histories shaped by displacement or conflict that are rarely understood in mainstream spaces.
My work focuses on trauma through a relational, culturally informed approach integrating psychotherapy, narrative work, and practical problem solving. I am an Arab and Muslim therapist who speaks Arabic. My office is in Central New Jersey and I offer both in person and online therapy for children, teens, young adults, adults, and families.
