Mahalo! Hi, my name is Nichole Mathis, and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) and work with clients in Hawaii via telehealth. I work with adolescents and specialize in parenting, adoption, foster care, anxiety & depression, grief & loss, incarceration, domestic abuse, and military community support using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Attachment Strategies to support clients in making progress toward their goals. This provider resides in Hawaii.
My approach to therapy is based on the needs and preferences of the individual client. The models of therapy I utilize are Attachment therapy and Cognitive Behavioral therapy, as these modalities build a shared understanding of the client's reality and support a way for us to work together as a team to move forward.
I approach goal setting by working with the client to identify short-term and long-term goals that support what the client wants to accomplish in our time together. By building trust in our sessions together, we can effectively make strides toward positive outcomes.
