Neurofeedback is very effective in treating symptoms of ADHD (distractibility, impulsivity, and hyperactivity) and lacks the sides effects associated with stimulant medications.
Are your troubles making it hard to cope? Worries feel like a never-ending loop? New life transitions making you ask "who am I"? My philosophy is to see each person as bringing something unique to the therapeutic relationship. Regardless of diagnosis, everyone has their own experiences along with an identity that has been formed over the lifespan. My goal is to walk with you on your journey by assisting you in discovering the new, working in the present, as well as analyzing the past.

Don't give up! Using a combination of trauma work, art therapy, and neurofeedback, we'll create a treatment plan specifically for you.
Nothing has been the same since that terrible event. In a moment, your life was split into two parts: before and after. It's already taken so much from you and affects everything you do. Physically, you're breaking down. Sleep is next to impossible, and you can't remember when you didn't have a splitting tension headache. You're always on edge, ready for the next threat to present itself. You never know how you're going to react from one moment to the next. And the more you fight for control, the less you have. You long for a life of peace, free from the constant despair. But you just don't know how to get it. It feels hopeless.

I see every individual that comes through my door as having innate healing and growth potential that just needs to be topped into in conjunction with appropriate education, awareness, and treatment. Clinicians can't change the past for anyone, but we can help clients change their relationship with their past I believe change happens when clients harness their own motivation and make the decision to change for themselves. I see my role as your partner on that journey. It is both an honor and a privilege for me to do so. The human spirit is resilient only sometimes we don’t see it. I offer neurofeedback for in person sessions.

By combining Art Therapy, Interpersonal Neurobiology, and Neurofeedback techniques, we can explore how your connections with others throughout your lifetime shape your thoughts & emotions, leading to overall improved mental well-being.
Here’s the thing: when you’re feeling unmotivated, find that you’ve been procrastinating on almost every task, and/or wondering, “How did I end up here?” it’s a surefire sign that overwhelm has set in. Without having the proper tools to identify triggers and learn to help your brain out preemptively, you’re having meltdowns at embarrassing times, picking fights with friends and family, and finding yourself stuck in habits that you know are harmful or unhelpful. This can lead to immeasurable emotional and physical exhaustion.

I offer Neurofeedback, a cutting-edge technology that promotes self-regulation and better brain function to mitigate distress and enhance peak performance.
So many of us present a high-functioning face to the world, but our inner lives tell a different story. Depression, anxiety, and other issues are natural byproducts of the stressful lives we lead. I work with adults, teens (16 and older), couples, and families, ranging from adolescents facing developmental struggles to stay-at-home parents and Beltway professionals. As a native Northern Virginian, I can relate to the challenges of living in this frenetic environment. My previous military and consulting experience give me an understanding of issues that busy professionals deal with like self-care and work-life balance.

How does neurofeedback work?

Neurofeedback is a type of biofeedback, meaning it provides real-time information about one’s physiological functions—in this case, brain activity. As they receive this feedback, clients are guided by a computer program, typically via visual or auditory cues, which aims to modify the brain patterns associated with their negative symptoms. Over time, proponents argue, clients learn how to better regulate their own brain function and improve the symptoms that cause problems in day-to-day life.

How effective is neurofeedback?

Some research has found that neurofeedback can help treat conditions like ADHD, and anecdotal evidence suggests that many people who undergo neurofeedback find it beneficial. However, some experts have expressed skepticism, arguing that the evidence in favor of neurofeedback is thin or may be due to the placebo effect. While the procedure is generally seen as safe and has few side effects, it is not typically considered a first-line therapy and is instead often recommended as an adjunct treatment.

What are the limitations of neurofeedback?

Neurofeedback is generally considered safe and most patients report manageable side effects, or none at all. However, the research on neurofeedback remains inconclusive, and some experts are skeptical that it’s as effective as its proponents claim. It can also be costly and may not be covered by insurance; thus, it’s important to confirm cost and insurance coverage before initiating a neurofeedback program.

How long does neurofeedback last?

A typical neurofeedback session lasts between 30 and 60 minutes. There is no set number of sessions needed for a course of neurofeedback. Before initiating a neurofeedback regimen, clients are advised to discuss the treatment timeline with their provider, as well as when they might expect to see results.
