My passion in life is to serve God through a ministry of counseling. I enjoy working with children (age 6 and up), adolescents, and adults of all ages. Our lives can be a beautiful albeit messy adventure. Sometimes, we find ourselves struggling & need to reach out for help. I offer an encompassed approach to counseling, customizing the experience for adults, children, teens, families, & couples. If you are struggling with depression or are dealing with Autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, anxiety or self-esteem problems, we can chart a client specific course to wellness. If at home, you are dealing with issues in your marriage/partnership, Domestic Violence (verbal, physical, financial, or emotional abuse) or have suffered sexual trauma, we can work together to find safe solutions.

Starting therapy or returning to therapy can feel difficult or uncomfortable. My aim is to foster an environment of safety, openness, and authenticity to allow for greater progress towards a fulfilling, happy life. I offer individuals the tools to empower them to achieve goals and make meaningful decisions in their lives. You are the expert in your own life and I’m here as a support through your journey. I view therapy as a place to be curious and explore new ideas, exercises, or coping strategies in a nonjudgmental environment. I utilize a variety of clinical approaches to address individual’s needs.

I consider it my personal mission to reduce the divorce rate in the United States, 1 couple at a time. But preventing divorce will only be succesful if, in place of unfulfilling or chronically dysfunctional marriages, couples develop truly thriving marriages & deeply fulfilling relationships. Even in the most hopeless-seeming cases, couples can heal the damage from the past and move forward in a healthier way. Not all marriages can be saved, but when couples do the work to heal the past, their future can be happier, no matter what the outcome for the relationship.

Therapy is a growth experience that can influence the way you view the world and yourself. As humans, we all experience times of discomfort and life transitions. Therapy is not only for those suffering from addiction or mental illness. It is also a way to gain skills, enhance your performance, and learn more about yourself. Barriers to becoming who you want to be can be explored in therapy and work to re-building life, relationships, and even your career.

My journey of helping individuals and families began as a hospice social worker. I worked closely with individuals and families to provide a "total care" approach while offering guidance through the emotional process of death. Now in private practice, I have worked with many cases and continue to use the "total care" approach with each client. I welcome all individuals and find incorporating your values/beliefs in therapy is supportive of the healing process. As I share with clients, we have to embrace our past, present and future to begin the healing process.

Throughout my life I have become so aware of the importance of having someone who will listen, someone who will offer compassion without judgment. Throughout my career I have strived to place that understanding in focus as I worked with individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, personality disorders, and the lifelong pains of trauma.

I provide Therapy for depression, marriage counseling, couples counseling, women's issues, trauma, abuse, PTSD, LGBTQ and Trans specific issues, etc. I work with a variety of people who are at different places in their lives. As a Therapist I offer a personalized approach that is tailored to each client's needs, focusing on the personal growth that each person desires. My therapeutic style is active and engaging, with the intention of fostering insight, awareness and facilitating desired change. I have been in the helping field for over fifteen years. I work with children, adolescents, couples, & families.Working with all of these age groups has helped me to have a better worldview of how issues affect us throughout different stages of our lives.My approach is cognitive behavioral therapy with family systems, but I also believe that an integrated approach alows us to use the events that have hurt us over the years to actually strengthen us today. I do EMDR as well. It is a process but I am here to guide & support you through getting to a healthier you.I am full of gratitude for the opportunties I have to work with you.

I believe life needs to be fully experienced and enjoyed! Too often, the stresses and traumas of life prevent us from stepping into a full life. My goal is to create a welcoming environment where you can feel safe enough to start working on creating the life you dreamed of having and to develop the skills necessary for personal growth. Prior to becoming a counselor, I worked as as a Qualified Professional with individuals with developmental delays over a decade. I enjoyed assisting individuals with specific behavioral and life skill needs. I enjoy spending time with my son, riding horses and gardening.

I’ve been in the mental health field for over 20 years and have been providing clinical care since 2011. I’ve worked with first responders crisis settings and provided services to first responders in a therapeutic environment. I work a lot with domestic violence, sexual trauma, and human trafficking. I pull from several modalities including CBT, trauma-focused CBT, DBT, motivational interviewing, solutions focused, strength-based, and reality therapy. I like working with people who are motivated to improve their lives. Because I work with such a wide range of issues, I can be helpful and supportive in many different areas.

Sometimes we may feel lost and unable to see ourselves during a change or transition. I enjoy working with those who wish for a deeper relationship with themselves. I enjoy helping clients connect dots and uncover strengths they may be unable to see or unaware they have. I have a passion for helping women navigate motherhood and relationships at any stage. I value the relationship and connection that is built during our time together. My goal is to create an environment of support where you can share insights, find meaning, and grow. I do this through using my gifts of empathy, compassion, non judgment, and humor.

I received my master’s degree in social work from University of South Carolina. My post-graduate work focuses predominately on child welfare, specifically working with young children, young adolescents, and their families who have experienced trauma within their home. I also have considerable experience working with numerous populations such as victims of domestic violence, mental illness, substance abuse, homelessness, and those who are developmentally disabled. It’s important to know that I’m passionate about helping people overcome barriers and recognizing their strengths, while assisting them with life crises.
