I also have advanced training in CPT trauma therapy to help people heal from trauma.

I love Mississippi and I love meeting the people who live here. I believe everyone has a story and I consider it an honor to be in a position to hear those stories. I come from a Christian perspective and the interventions I use are congruent with my beliefs and values. The primary interventions I use are from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), and other proven family therapy models. I do not impose my personal beliefs and values onto my clients. This process is about you, not me.

Lauren received her B.S. in Psychology in 2006 and M.S. in Counseling in 2011 from William Carey University. She is very passionate about working with individuals, children/adolescents, and families to improve relationships and quality of life. I am honored to be working with Wright Counseling Group here in Oxford. I have spent the past 22 years as a school counselor helping teenagers and elementary students, families, and staff. Counseling is my greatest joy and passion. I look forward to working with both adults and children in the therapeutic setting. I have been in private practice as a licensed clinical social work. since 1989. I have a master's degree from Tulane University where I served on the advisory board for the School of Social Work. I was a consultant at the Master's and Johnson Sexual Trauma Unit in New Orleans, trained in critical incident debriefing, and served as a divorce and custody mediator for the courts in Louisiana. I enjoy working with adults both individually and as couples. I enjoy helping people find patterns that no longer work for them and teaching new strategies for coping and growing.
