I have a lot of experience helping teenagers and adults through therapy focused on trauma. I offer therapy for individuals, couples, and families. I use different approaches, such as cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and EMDR, to ensure the best outcomes.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CAADC) in the state of Michigan. I am currently providing in-person and telemental health services to individuals struggling with ongoing mental health issues including anxiety, depression, PTSD, addiction, grief, and more. I work with adolescent and adult populations and utilize both humanistic and cognitive behavioral approaches to counseling which honor an individual’s strengths, build upon existing capabilities, and encourage autonomy.

After the fresh passion of a new or developing relationship cools, partners in marriages and committed relationships often find they experience a distancing from one another. Often this distancing results in anger and resentment toward partners. Problems which were once minor irritants now seem to be major issues which seem to always be a source of conflict and anger, or may be avoided entirely for fear of conflict. In counseling couples and families using the Gottman method, my passion is helping my clients transform their relationships and gain a new sense of optimism in their relational pursuits.

I am a Licensed Master Social Worker. I earned my bachelor's degree in History from Taylor University; a Master's degree in Student Personnel Administration in Higher Education from Ball State University; and a Master's degree in Social Work from Grand Valley State University. I have over 25 years of experience working in counseling, training, higher education, non-profit administration, and financial planning. My experience as a clinical therapist, has spanned over 23 years. I enjoy working with individuals, couples, and families. My areas of expertise include depression, anxiety, addictive personalities, spiritual issues, financial issues, and cognitive restructuring.

Life can be hard, and for many, the last several years have been particularly hard. Sometimes it is traumatic and tragic, other times it's overwhelming and confusing, and sometimes it just feels plain blah. Over the years, counseling has played an important role in my own life, helping me navigate the ups and downs. In turn, I have had the chance to walk with people during some of the darkest and most challenging seasons of their lives. My hope is to continue to journey with others and be a healing presence in their lives.
