I am Dr. Spence, a licensed clinical psychologist who is certified in perinatal mental health through Postpartum Support International. I have experience working with men, women, and non-binary individuals around a wide range of health concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, work stress, grief, women's health conditions (menopause, pregnancy, PMDD) and chronic illness. I also work with couples, to help strengthen communication and increase trust and relationship satisfaction.
My main areas of specialization include: trauma, perinatal mental health, and couple's therapy. I use an integrative approach to treatment, tailoring care to your specific needs while drawing on psychological research to inform interventions. Some of the modalities I draw from include EMDR, PE and CPT, ACT, Gottman method, and EFT.
Past patients have described me as empathic, authentic, and a balance of warm and accepting while also gently challenging you to move in the direction of your goals and hopes for treatment. My practice is evidence-based, trauma-informed, and prioritizes a multicultural and empowering approach.
