Welcome! My name is Zachary Durham, M.S. and I am Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas. I have been an active counselor for the past 15 years and have specialized in marriage and family therapy for most of my career. My areas of focus include anxiety, coping skills, depression, family conflict, stress, relationship issues, trauma and PTSD, and self esteem, amongst others. I have also worked in the hospital setting for 12 years and specialized in brain injury recovery and grief therapy.

Currently Accepting New Clients. I am an interpersonal process/person-centered therapist. I believe that many clients experience mental health concerns that are interpersonal in nature. This could include relationships with spouse/partner, family, siblings, co-workers, employers, God and/or SELF. Within relationships we experience our emotions and our therapeutic relationship becomes a tool for addressing these concerns. I tend to be a direct therapist and share my feelings, thoughts and reactions. I use a lot of metaphor and narrative in therapy and expect clients to come prepared to talk about things in therapy.

Often we face many challenges in our lives and need an outlet to figure out the road we will take on this next journey. Dealing with depression and anxiety can add to our level of stress. I have successful experience working with adults and older adults dealing with depression and anxiety, grief and loss, stress, divorce, family and care giving issues. With my previous experience working in hospitals and psychiatric hospitals for adults and older adults I bring skills to help you develop coping strategies as you might face these challenges.

Seeking help can be overwhelming and takes courage to reach out; therefore, I welcome you to this experience. I have worked with individuals from different backgrounds and issues throughout their lifespan. I am licensed in Texas with 5 years of professional counseling experience. I like to get to know my clients and understand the barriers they are experiencing and the outcomes they wish to manifest in their lives. I listen carefully about their experiences and look to help find positive solutions to their different life challenges. I am open to exploring any topics without passing judgement and implementing the most person-centered techniques that will lead to positive outcomes.

Based on my 25 years of experience, I usually recommend a holistic and objective assessment of the problems as part of the solution. These assessments include understanding, first and foremost, the needs of the individual. These can include anxiety, depression, ADHD, peer issues, family problems, stress, and many other things. I treasure the insight the individuals bring to the conversation with their questions, concerns, observations, and overall experiences. I provide in person and online psychotherapy to all ages. I work during the week and on weekends. I treat individuals with a wide variety of issues. I research and plan for the best information and help I can provide to a person as soon as I can. I am open and honest with the consumer. And confront them when they are denial with themselves at times with their problems.

I LOVE my work because I get to help people help themselves. With over 25 years experience, I have worked with adolescent and adult individuals, couples and families, providing a safe place to express and explore their concerns and challenges as well as hopes and dreams.
