I am a seasoned clinican with over thirty years expericence in the field. I seek to create a comfortable, professional, and safe environment. My style is personal, informal, and direct. I endeavor to use humor, when appropriate, to put clients at ease, and provide perspective in order to move our work forward. My orientation is psychodynamic though I rely heavily on cognitive behavioral approaches because they have been shown to be effective and because the concepts can be readily understood.

If you've made it this far and you're reading this, you must be a Warrior. Really. Having Substance Use Disorder (SUD), or loving someone who has SUD, is not for the weak at heart. I liken it's reach to a tornado, an EF5 tornado actually. But here's the thing; You and I working together - we are to SUD what FEMA is to a tornado. Together, we can pick up the wreckage, organize it, decide what parts you want to keep, which ones you want to fix, and where to start fresh. You are not alone. In fact, 1 in 3 American families are struggling with SUD in the home. 22 Million Americans are in long-term recovery. All of them needed help too.

I view Psychotherapy as collaborative effort where the client and therapist work together to find resolution to issues. It is an active process whether we're doing individual or couples' therapy. Although issues often feel quite daunting initially, they become manageable and ultimately resolved in a timely fashion. After over 35 years of experience, I believe that most, if not all presenting problems can be helped.

We all experience challenges during our everyday lives. Sometimes these challenges can seem overwhelming and discouraging. I work with people who want to make changes in their lives to help themselves overcome these difficult experiences. These changes can often be difficult to contemplate, yet alone act on. I strive to create a supportive environment for my clients where they can explore their concerns and the emotions that arise.

There is wisdom in the ways we adapt to our environments, but they do not always serve us in the present moment. My aim is to help people identify their adaptive patterns and view them with compassion, while also learning what to hold and what to let go. As a neurobiological informed therapist, I aim to help people move from judgement, shame and isolation to curiosity, acceptance and connection.

I am a social worker who has been in the human services field for over 10 years. I have experience working with adults who have a history of trauma, homelessness, criminal justice involvement, and substance use disorder. I believe in creating a non-judgmental environment where people can tell their story and collaborate with me as a clinician to identify the changes they would like to make in their lives.

I have worked with individuals in active addiction making their first steps towards sobriety as well as others in long term sobriety. I hope to offer a listening ear, help and support on your life's journey. I am offering DEEP Evals, and DEEP Counseling. Also offering Substance use Evaluations.
