I received my Bachelors in Sociology with a minor in music, my first Masters in Human Relations with an emphasis in counseling, and my second Masters in Social Work. I am a licensed social worker with experience working with many different populations and age groups. I have worked in various settings including nonprofit leadership, foster care and adoption, and homelessness. I have training in trauma focused approaches and specialize in LGBTQIA+, chronic illness, and anxiety.

I provide individual therapy with adults who are ready for change. This may be dealing with issues like ruminating thoughts, anxiety attacks, disassociation, flashbacks, obsessions and compulsions, triggers and cognitive distortions Etc. Chabreah Alston is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Registered Drama Therapist. She received her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a specialization in Drama Therapy from Lesley University. I am a seasoned, licensed psychologist who specializes in the treatment of people experiencing life/career stress, chronic pain, substance abuse, anxiety and/or depression. I treat adults, couples and families. I was the Chief Psychologist for the Lahey Pain Management Center in Danvers, Mass for 5 years and led a free chronic pain support group at Lahey- Beverly Hospital for 7 year.s I have written 2 books (one second edition), have had an American Psychological Association certificate for treating people with mixed substance use/abuse-dependence and am on the allied health courtesy staff at BI-Lahey-Beverly Hospital.

I am currently offering supervision for clinicians. As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor my work has largely revolved around trauma recovery and I am very passionate about working with transitional age youth, families, and couples, as well as the LGBTQIA+ community. I have been working with adolescents, families, and adults for over 10 years in a multitude of settings. I have experience working with the foster care system, substance abuse, and LGBTQIA+ organizations as well as in high schools as a school-based counselor, integrated healthcare and as a clinical director and supervisor.

She has been in recovery since March 31st, 2018 and is an active member of the 12-step fellowship and believes that well-being begins with community. I specialize in depression, anxiety and trauma, and the use of alternative psychotherapy approaches. (However, I do offer traditional approaches). These new psychotherapies are body-centered and mindfulness-based. In other words, we are more than our thoughts - we are our sensations, feelings and that something which is greater than the self, the transpersonal. These new psychotherapies work directly with client's moment to moment awareness of what is felt or sensed within the body. These felt sensed experiences are then processed through cognition which then allow for the opportunity of insight, change and healing.

I prefer to work with adolescents and young adults who are experiencing challenges with anxiety, depression, ADHD, low self-esteem, and complex trauma. I enjoy working with engaged individuals who are dedicated to bettering their mental health in any shape or form within their capability.
