I think for most people the answer is that they 1. aren't sure about what they want and how to get it and/or 2. they have thinking errors that get in the way of them making the progress they would like.

My approach to therapy is a collaborative team approach, we work together to accomplish your goals. I am a peaceful, non-confrontational clinician I do not ask “What is wrong with you?” but “What happened to you?” And if you are not sure, well, we will figure that out together. My first objective is to educate my clients on their mental health, so that they may understand what is going on within themselves. Trying to manage depression, anxiety, trauma etc. can be very intimidating and discouraging. We will work together to recognize your negative symptoms and you will learn how to manage them to live a healthy, positive life.

I work with women who struggle with blended high/low self esteem. To the outside world, we are successful and have our shit together. Except we are masters at hiding pain. Inside, we have a black hole filled with guilt, shame, and feeling unworthy. We feel stress managing family, life, career, relationships, and don't feel good enough. We carry trauma in our bodies and it shows up in our daily life. From a young age, we learned self betrayal was pivotal to be worthy of love and to feel good enough. We didn't have a voice. My focus is repairing the damage due to past experiences and how it’s created a critical view to our own self.

I believe that we as individuals are the true experts about our own lives, and that positive change is not only possible but is within reach, when we are provided with the support we need.
