I provide counseling services for children, adolescents, and adults in Houma, La. After graduating from my undergrad psychology program I invested several years working closely with the sheriff department and child protective services. I quickly realized I wanted to help on a deeper level than what I was able to do with the level of education I had. I decided to go back to school and received a masters degree in counseling. I am also a licensed counselor in Louisiana and Florida.

My goal is to equip you and your child with the tools you need to succeed. I take a holistic approach and consider all relevant factors affecting your child's symptoms. I carefully create individualized treatment plans to address the root of the issue and gain buy-in from your child.

In counseling, I utilize an integrative approach that combines reality therapy, person-centered, and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). I have 14 years experience working with adults in a 12-step program. This experience has given me tools and knowledge that can help others achieve their goals. I also have over 3000 hours of experience working with children 6-18 on issues such as ADHD, behavior, emotional and mood problems, social difficulties, and adjustment issues. With both children and adults, I focus on the "here and now" and the issue at hand utilizing the strengths and abilities of my clients.

I am Licensed Professional Counselor whose professional and personal experiences have lead me down the path to helping clients of all ages with life's daily struggles. I provide individual and family counseling for children, teens, and adults for a wide range of mental health disorders such as, but not limited to, depression, anxiety, PTSD/Trauma, anger management, sexual abuse, self-harm, parenting Skills, grief, and ADHD.

I have a client centered philosophy of care. My goal is to help clients understand how their thoughts influence their behaviors. When first meeting, I will provide a comfortable and supportive environment for building rapport and setting treatment goals. The hope is for you, my client, to feel supported in developing goals for self improvement and ultimately gaining insight and experiencing personal growth.

Over 20 yrs experience in Mental Health. In need of tools & techniques to achieve a balanced & healthy lifestyle, I can help. Examples include: tools/techniques to help you manage mild anxiety/stress/depression/ADHD; manage time challenges & expense of eating healthy; guiding you through grocery store isles; manage time spent on games, phone, etc. for kids/whole family; assisting in food based decisions keeping in line with health goals you establish; assist you in developing goals & an individualized plan. After several sessions, you will become more confident at handling decisions & issues whenever & wherever they arise.

I am willing to work with individuals and families to address their needs. The needs that I have the most experience with are mental health, behavioral, personal and social, emotional, educational, grief and loss, and substance abuse. I am willing to work with individuals who are wanting a better quality of life and willing to put forth effort through open and honest communication and skill building assessments and activities.

I am currently accepting self-pay clients only. I charge a reduced fee based on a sliding scale. Reaching out for help is the hardest step that someone can take. The last few years have taken a toll on everyone with the adversity that we have experienced. Not only are we facing new challenges daily, but we are also suffering from the stressors of the last few years.

I am a counselor with over 20 years of experience working with adults, adolescents, and children. My approach is warm and accepting and combines developmental, interpersonal, cognitive behavioral, family systems and internal family systems therapies.
