Hello and welcome! Being here now, you have taken the first step towards the life you want to live. It takes courage and strength to seek assistance and engage in a process, I believe is rewarding on many levels. I have a passion to work with adults who struggle with grief, anxiety, depression and partner/family challenges. Change, even when for the better, is not easy, so why do it alone? I strive to create a welcoming, warm, safe and accepting environment for you to build the trust needed for our therapeutic relationship to grow and for you to achieve the growth and healing you desire and deserve.

In my practice, I typically work with all different ages and types of clients that have a range of presenting issues, from Anxiety and Depression to Couples and Family Issues, Gender Identity Struggles, Personality Disorders, and many more presenting problems. I always listen to my clients and address their needs and make sure that they are getting the maximum benefit out of therapy and are working towards achieving their short, medium, and long term goals. I always tailor my therapeutic approach to fit the unique needs of each client, and I work hard to accommodate their scheduling needs, day or night, as well as their budget.

I offer 1:1 skills coaching for neurodiverse adults, teens, and kids. I also offer parent coaching and general consultations; all my sessions incorporate Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) which helps separate thoughts from sense of self through a behavioral lens. I am also currently a CBS student (Certified Behavioral Sexologist) under Nicholas Maio Aether and can offer sessions via telehealth/in person for concerns around socio-sexual behaviors and supports. Skills can include learning how to flirt, self advocacy skills, and recognizing safe/unsafe situations.

Mr. King is a Licensed Professional Counselor. It is his belief that the relationship between the client and counselor is critical and that growth and healing is a result of this relationship. As this relationship develops relevant issues can be discussed and than processed, thus allowing the client to make choices that brings about growth and development. Many of our problems (depression, anxiety, anger, etc) are multifaceted and as we begin to deal with the issues surrounding those problems the symptoms decrease and our lives become fuller.

I'm a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner, which means that I help people to work through their issues from a body-oriented approach, focusing on autonomic nervous system responses; i.e. fight, flight, freeze, etc. I strive to create a warm and safe therapeutic space that allows healing to naturally take place. My approach is person-centered and collaborative; with each client receiving individualized care depending on their life history, current issues, and personal goals. I have special interest in helping people who experience caregiver burnout, anxiety, grief, and other trauma-related symptoms.

I am a Faith Based (Catholic/Christian) License Professional Counselor. Certified in Trauma, Grief and Loss that loves working with Adolescents, Couples, Families and Individuals since 2004. I strongly believe that through our life our experiences may leave deep wounds that stop us from being loved by others and giving love to others. Through Therapy, one can begin to process these wounds, as a heart surgeon unclogs the arteries of the heart, and begin to feel like the loving individual that God created us to be and wants us to be

I have a special interest in preserving children and families. I have also been successful in providing therapeutic solutions to younger and older adults. I am familiar with the struggles that many mental health challenges have on the routines of everyday life, such as school and work. I am also aware of the impact of mental heath challenges on the family. Stress, even though not seen to most as a mental health challenge can also be a reason that my services are sought.

As Irvin Yalom very well stated, "Therapy should not be theory driven, but relationship driven." I am a firm believer of this sentiment; and will accompany you on what I believe is an on-going journey towards self-growth. Through a therapeutic relationship that is safe, genuine, and caring; I aim to guide my client towards insight that makes a path towards change, understanding, and/or acceptance more feasible.

I work with children, adolescents, adults, and couples, addressing a variety of challenges, including anxiety, depression, family issues, relationships, self-esteem, anger management, ADHD, personality disorder, behavioral challenges, etc. I have 16 years of experience providing intensive outpatient counseling to individuals and groups. I strongly believe that counseling is a partnership between the therapist and the client, designed to arrive at the needed objectives and goals. Whereas the therapist has skills and training, the client is always the expert on themselves and their families. Only through working together with regard for the dignity and worth of each individual can challenges be alleviated and strengths enhanced.
