I am most passionate about working with college students, young professionals, new mothers, pre-marital/newly married couples, and anyone else who is in the midst of doing the hard work of trying to become their healthiest and most authentic selves. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor who offers empathy and supportive listening in a safe environment . I have experience in working with children, adolescents and adults who has experienced trauma, grief, depression, anxiety, relationship issues and addictions. Included, but not limited to, stress management, depression, anger management, cultural-related issues, life and jobs skills development; behavioral planning, structural learning, crisis intervention, sexual perpetration and victimization, and some case management services.

I have always had a desire to help people since I was a small child. As a young adult my interest began to grow towards the helping profession. My faith is important to me. It is my faith that continues to drive my profession as a therapist. I believe in life we experience so many things that effect how we think, live, and grow as a person. I wanted to gain more knowledge on how to be effective in helping people. So, then begins my journey to social work.

I work with adults, couples, children, and teenagers to help equip them with skills needed to thrive in life, and resolve conflict. As a parent and youth volunteer within the community, my heart is particularly for this young generation and the issues they face. Depression, anxiety, stress, and peer struggles threaten the emotional well-being of our kids. Sadly, suicide is now one of the leading causes of death for this age group. It’s imperative that our youth receive an outlet for their emotional stress and injury, and receive the coping skills to work through the obstacles they’ll face now and as adults.

I believe counseling benefits everyone but it is important to find a good match between counselor and client. I challenge you to grow, explore issues, and develop future goals by providing the necessary tools to overcome barriers through newly found awareness. "SAFE HAVEN" was the exact words one of my first clients used to describe our time together. It was this sense of safety and connection that allowed her to explore life events that had previously kept her: isolated, fearful and angry. Our work together, incorporated directive based and open therapeutic art-making to help her share the burden of her trauma, understand how she was feeling in relation to what she had experienced and to facilitate forming a new sense of direction.

My typical client is a person with one or more addictions and/or PTSD symptoms & reactions, depression, anxiety, bi-polar disorder, etc.; any combination may or may not have been diagnosed at time of entry.
