Hello and welcome to my profile page. I am thrilled that you have taken the first step toward finding the support that you need. I understand that it can be daunting to work with a new therapist, but I assure you that it is worth the effort to find a therapist who is the right fit for you. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 20 years of experience, I have worked with individuals from all walks of life. If you are experiencing stress, depression, anxiety, addiction, relationship problems or simply feeling lost, I would be honored to partner with you to help you find healing and direction in your life.

These and many other frustrations precede my clients initial call to my office in search of methods and strategies to find relief where I help guide my clients in evaluating, processing and putting the broken pieces back together

I provide both counseling and psychological testing/evaluation to teens and adults. Both services will explore current difficulties in your daily functioning, impact of life events, personality traits, and how your behavior may be influenced by the environment around you. I primarily focus on ADHD, Anxiety, Depression, Mood disorders, and ASD for counseling and testing, while exploring differential diagnosis for evaluations as well.

Starting therapy can be a daunting task, between the fear of being judged and the dread of spending half your session explaining terms or acronyms that make up an integral part of your identity. All you want is to talk to someone who gets you. Maybe you’re navigating the process of coming out; maybe you’re on the cusp of a major transition; or maybe you’re tired of trying to fit yourself in a box that doesn’t seem made for people like you. It can feel lonely, frustrating, and even scary sometimes. I understand.

Theresa is a Licensed Professional Art Therapist, Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, and an approved LPAT/LPCC supervisor. She received her Masters of Education with a concentration in Art Therapy and Counseling from the University of Louisville in 2006 and a Bachelors of Fine Arts, Cum Laude, from the University of Louisville in 2002. She has over 15 years of experience working in the mental health field. She is one of the co-founders of Louisville Expressive Therapies.

I am a child/adolescent psychologist, and co-owner of L+C Psychological Services, who has been in private practice for the past seventeen years. I love the work that I do with children, adolescents, and their families to create happy and healthy lives. I have extensive experience working with children and adolescents with anxiety, depression, ADHD, and behavior disorders. I also frequently work with children and their families going through transitions such as divorce, moving, changes within the family, etc. Collaboration with other professionals, such as pediatricians, psychiatrists, and schools is a priority in my practice.

Dr. Smith focuses her practice on treating a number of clinical issues including: anxiety disorders (generalized anxiety, social anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and specific phobias), depression, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and traumatic events including abuse and domestic violence. Dr. Smith works with children who are having difficulty adjusting to life stressors including divorce, school environments, and peer relationship development. She assists children and teens in developing effective coping skills to manage their emotions and behaviors.

Sometimes life can seem to hit us all at once and we can feel overwhelmed and talking to a friend is just not cutting it. Therapy can provide a safe place to discuss what we are going through, help to develop new coping skills and to have someone help us process our thoughts and to guide us to making healthy decisions to bring our life back into balance. I will provide straightforward/non-judgmental guidance through whatever problem you want to work though.
