My name is Emily Turvey. I specialize in working with gender issues, trauma/PTSD, teens, and highly sensitive people. I am trained in the use of EMDR and often work from client centered, narrative based, and parts work approaches. Sage Therapy was created to be a space that embodies healing, clarity, and inner wisdom. The therapeutic experience provided at Sage Therapy will allow you to dig deeper to the roots of your present concerns.

Making the decision to begin counseling can seem difficult and overwhelming. My goal is to provide a welcoming, nonjudgmental environment for us to explore things in your life that have been bothering you. I believe once you better understand yourself, it is easier to explore why you do the things you do and what to do to change this in order to live the life you want. In order to make therapy more accessible, I offer late afternoon and evening appointments.

There is no such thing as an ideal client. That is too boring. The way I do therapy is relaxed. I am not your average therapist, and I am not going to be like, "How does that make you feel?" but I am going to say, "What up! How are we doing today?" I never stop learning, and when you have me as a therapist, you will see that you will fall back in love with learning. Overall, I am just honored you allowed me to help you! I specialize in working with couples and adult individuals- I'm trained in EFT and EMDR. I am currently accepting new clients! Do you feel like emotions can feel completely overwhelming or even seem to be absent? Other times you might respond automatically without understanding why- then you feel disconnected from the people you care about. Things like trauma, worry, shame, stress, or feelings of low self-esteem can keep you or your loved one chained from living freely. I love working through this process to help individuals and couples understand and then heal!
